I've recently been toying with a headcanon that Hikaru still has some Pillar-ish abilities after the end of the series and am wondering what the rest of you think about the idea.

Yumeiro no Tsubasa / Fic dump
« on: May 10, 2015, 01:37:14 AM »
I realized it's been several months since I actually posted links to any of my fics, so here's all of the fics I've posted in that time in one big post.

Water's Test
Summary: Umi undergoes Selece's trial.

Wind's Test
Summary: Fuu undergoes Windam's trial.

Fire's Test
Summary: Hikaru undergoes Rayearth's trial.

What's the most blatant trick you've ever used to increase your word count for NaNoWriMo? (A trick being anything that you know in advance is unlikely to remain when you go back and edit the story.)

For me, it would have to be using the chapter title to give a lengthy - almost item-by-item - summary of the chapter.

For a while now, in the interests of a possible canon-mixing AU, I've been trying to reconcile the idea from the manga that foreign Roads are the next thing to impossible to enter without permission from the Road's creator with the rescues of Hikaru and Fuu in the anime and I've finally managed to come up with an explanation that satisfies me:

Foreign Roads are only the next thing to impossible to enter without their creator's permission if they have been moving within the last half hour. Roads that have not been moving within the last half hour are still difficult to enter without their creator's permission, but it is possible for someone with a sufficiently strong will (like Lantis) and/or sufficient motivation (like Ferio) to do it.

This retains the "OMG WTF How did they do that?" uniqueness of Eagle plowing through Fahren and Chizeta's Roads and Hikaru entering Autozam's Road that is present in the manga (since all three Roads had been in motion within the last half hour at the time they were penetrated), but still allows Lantis and Ferio to pull off their rescue efforts without drawing the attention of the Mashin and Mokona.

Romansu no Mori / MKR Shipping Weeks 2014 - Manga scan request thread
« on: July 19, 2014, 10:51:49 PM »
I have a printer/scanner that I'm willing to employ in the service of people who want manga scans for fanworks for the Shipping Weeks. If you'd like to request a scan, please post here with the volume number, approximate page number and a brief description of the image you want.

Example: MKR 1 Volume 2, page 14-ish, the panel where Ferio says he's on his way to Eterna.

Things that I have already scanned can be found here. More will be added periodically as I finish editing scans into useful images.

So somehow I got an idea for an MKR/AtLA fusion and now the idea won't leave me alone. I really don't need an idea this complicated bouncing around in my head. Please, people, help me get it out of my head.

((I edited the title of the post to make the topic more clear. :)  --suzanami))

Yumeiro no Tsubasa / Fifteen Mokona on a Dead Man's Chest by Psiten
« on: April 26, 2014, 11:18:32 PM »
Fifteen Mokona on a Dead Man's Chest by Psiten is a massive ongoing CLAMP works crossover series. Currently, all stories that have been posted are complete.

* Overall: Nothing is safe. Nothing is sacred. Everything is... pirates vs. ninjas. Possibly with a bit of 'saving the world' thrown in for good measure. ''Fifteen Mokona on a Dead Man's Chest'' is comprised of stand-alone short stories that can be read independently, without going back for earlier installments. As the stories go on, however, they will consistently tie together for those who prefer to start at the beginning.
* Rum and Popcorn: So, a pirate walks into a bar and sits down next to a ninja...
* Talk Like a Pirate Day: Once upon a faraway time, in a universe slightly askew to this one, circumstances beyond anyone's control led to a fierce and bitter rivalry between Pirates and Ninjas, but Kurogane doesn't care about that. His only concern is to retrieve Princess Sakura and Syaoran from the Pirate King's ship... where Fai is happily making his life complicated.
* Slings and Arrows: Doumeki is pretty sure this is a dream, no matter what Watanuki has to say about it.
* You Got It: Life at Green Market is never easy, but Kazahaya definitely didn't ask for all this crap. And that went double for thigh-high stockings.
* Dark and Stormy: A full-scale pirate rebellion in Sorata's home fleet finds the Dragon of Heaven in a sea battle, Kamui in a race with an elite ninja team for a legendary artifact, and Fai... on a date?
* Dim Smitten Star: In which Seishirou is a jerk, Subaru is an overcooked angst-muffin, and Kerberos wishes they had worked out any of their issues in the last two thousand years.
** Although most stories in the ''Fifteen Mokona on a Dead Man's Chest'' series can be read independently, this one-shot was intended as a "post-credits" bonus scene for ''Dark and Stormy'' and takes place the night after that story ends. Its tone and focus were different enough that the author decided to post it separately, but readers may decide it benefits from context.
*Let the Games Begin: Give Nokoru an excuse, and he'll give you a festival -- with the ninja elite from every corner of the globe. Which is, naturally, where Pirate King Fai D. Fluorite wants to send Kamui this week... Nothing can go wrong!
*Under a Mackerel Sky: Anchors a-weigh! Guess who's crossing the lines this time, sailing into the frozen Northern seas? But if there's one thing you don't say to the boss when the boss is Yuuko it's "No."

Rum and Popcorn, Talk Like a Pirate Day, You Got It, Dark and Stormy, and Let the Games Begin all contain chapters featuring explicit material. Links to less explicit versions of the chapters can be found at the top of the sidebar on Psiten's Dreamwidth account.

Thus far, characters from Magic Knight Rayearth have appeared in the first chapter of You Got It and throughout Dark and Stormy and Let the Games Begin.
