Title: Amazing CLAMP...
Post by: Gracita on March 22, 2008, 09:25:16 PM
So this weekend I went to visit a friend of mine and, while I was at her apartment, she showed me the strangest little piece of CLAMP work I've ever seen: Miyuki-chan in Wonderland. The artwork itself was beautiful as always (thanks, CLAMP), and the story was a rendition of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, but man, was that an acid trip! After a while I got semi-used to the heavy lesbian references, but I never was able to make peace with the music: a single, quite annoying, background song played throughout, and then got stuck in my head for most of the night. If you ever get a chance, check it out and tell me what you think about it...

Omigosh XD That was so hilarious, and yet so wrong... Poor Miyuki-chan, she's gonna be doing that for all of eternity.

Miyuki-chan in Wonderland is definitely one of CLAMP's more interesting selections.  I believe the manga has 6 volumes.  Poor Miyuki-chan always traveling to some other world.  I know that there's Wonderland, Mirrorland, TV Land, and X, but I forget the other two.  I have them somewhere.  I think they are even scanlations, but don't quote me on that.

But enough of details like that.  This one is something you would never expect CLAMP to do.  Well, they did it.  I enjoyed it...and not because I'm a guy.  I am a CLAMP fanboy and I'll openly admit that.

I had the DVD at some point but gave it to a friend.  It is crack beyond crack.  I felt sorry for poor Miyuki.  Everyone wanted to have their wicked way with her.

I know!

... Somehow, the Queen of Hearts reminded me a lot of adult Emeraude--physically, that is (I'm sure Zagato would've loved to see her in the queen's outfit too, lol).
