As I stepped myself in Ferio's shoes, I couldn't help admiring him.
He lost his only sister but we did not see him sulking in a corner or crying his eyes out or feel sorry for himself. Although he must miss his sister terribly.
Instead, he took up his original position as Prince,  as a leader to the distraught people.
I loved the scene in which he comforted Fuu who was crying fir Emeraude and he said all he wanted was Fuu's smile, even he must be grieving himself too.

My heart goes out to the brave and chivalrous Prince Ferio.

AHHHH, I am having a hard time figuring out what is in Ferio's mind!!!!!!! For my fic.

I'm having the same trouble saying stuff as I did in the Fuu thread.  I just don't know where to start.  There is too much.  *claps hands to face*  Ferio and Fuu separately are my favorite characters in MKR and I just love him so much that I don't even know what to say.

My preferred interpretation of Ferio is that he's a bit of a dick but well meaning. I mean, in both canons, he spent a fair few years larking about as a commoner, probably romancing the ladies. I just won't accept that as soon as he's Prince, he automatically snaps into this well mannered Princely role.

I meant to share this here when I posted it on Tumblr and KEPT FORGETTING so here are just some flailings about Feri-ohhh

How I feel about this character:  I love him.  I love how he's rough around the edges (er, well, maybe further in, as well) with a heart of gold.  IMHO, he's a pretty free spirit but he doesn't have his head in the clouds either, he tends to be rational and usually thinks things through... he really just likes having fun but isn't quite reckless.  he's a lazy slacker unless it's in his personal interest to be otherwise.  he's comfortable with who he is as a person and seems to be really self-aware, understand how he ticks, knows what motivates him.  he loves his sister.  my god does he love and miss his sister.  don't touch me.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: in seriousness, only Fuu.  but I?m very open to him with Umi if the whole Fuu thing is handled with care (I might have a horrible fic in mind actually).  actually I?m open to him with just about anyone because I?m all about sharing the Ferio booty love and I?m just interested in seeing how crack!pairings would pan out.  but at the end of the day, Fuu, and jokingly Umi.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:  Ferio/Umi all day every day.  DRINKING BUDDIES FOREVER.  I also have a weakness for Ferio/Hikaru friendship (not as close as he is with Umi but they have goofy fun together) and Ferio/Ascot because oh my god what precious bros.

My unpopular opinion about this character:  I don?t care how long he?s been alive, he?s such a freaking virgin.  not naive, but he just never gave a shit about pursuing relationships, was never on his radar, wasn't looking for one when he fell for Fuu.  I just can't un-headcanon it.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:  I hate how we lost so much of sly!Ferio in MKR2 (both the anime and manga).  I think he was just preoccupied of course, but I very much missed that.  I think that's part of who he is, it didn't just go away when he was put into his formal position.  (at the end of the day, I think "the change" in his personality in MKR2 rounds out his character a lot, shows more sides of him.)

My OTP:  Ferio/Fuu.  I will go down with this ship  jfc they?re so fucking cute let me just die.

My cross over ship:  AU where Ferio rents a video from Gokuraku and Ai Amano comes out of his TV.  it?d be very similar to how Video Girl Ai plays out except with Ferio and wow I would pay money for this, I think.  he'd have a very different relationship with Ai than he does with Fuu, and I like how she'd bring out his playful/scheming side.

A headcanon fact:  if he?s taken off his gloves, he feels very safe and comfortable and relaxed.  he?s not usually ticklish except when Fuu?s sleep-tickling him.  he always sleeps on his back.  he doesn?t much like to read.  he hates being stuck indoors.  he loves food almost as much as he loves sleep.  his worst scars are one across his chest and one long one down his back.
