Title: Current Favourite Songs
Post by: Revolutionaren on July 22, 2014, 05:59:37 PM
I'm not talking about what song you are currently incidentally listening to at the moment (although, you could tell us that)

I mean, what song are you currently obsessed with? That you can't stop listening on repeat no matter what?

Currently, it's a solid tie between Chandelier by Sia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vjPBrBU-TM) and Call Off Your Ghost by Dessa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6A8T6qWPBo). The latter of which was in a Night Vale episode and now I can't stop, won't stop.

Oh, hadn't heard the first one and it's trying to stick in my head, heh.

I've been trying to fix on a Protecting You soundtrack I can use to get my head back into the thing - well, I've been poking at it for ages but this last few weeks I was apparently all OKAY WORKING ON IT NOW, and so I'm listening to THAT over and over but there's two songs on it which are getting the single-track repeat right now. The first is INXS Never Tear Us Apart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VU9DjQpvMQ) (though the version I have is the shorter one from the album) because I CAN'T STOP TURNING THE BASE UP AND DRUMMING AFTER THE HESITATIONS

............Also I used to dance to it a lot. XD (Viennese Waltz - though I think they used to use a slower cover version. Not that you can't dance to this one but it's a BIT quick so a bit easy to lose control of your momentum... though that's fun.......................)

Second is Vienna Teng, Level Up (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4n_8R5lKnw)

...............................And both of them are on the playlist first and foremost because I wanted an excuse to listen to them a lot. XD

I'm currently taken with Colbie Caillat's Try (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXoZLPSw8U8), of all things.  Not sure exactly what it is that I like about it, but I like it.

I like all of these. Ack, more stuff to listen to!!

...I'm listening to Metallica's 'nothing else matters' - and also the Apocalyptica cover, because I'm trying to mix them so I can have awesome cello and also lyrics. So I'm listening to the same few seconds over and over and over a section at a time...

'The golden floor' by snow patrol. For whatever reason I really really want to put it on and dance... but I want to dance a samba and it might be the right rhythm but it's not the right tone even if the percussion is kinda- BUT I WANT TO DANCE SAMBA ROLLS TO IT. (There isn't room in the house. If I try I will fall into the cabinets in the kitchen or something...)

!!! excellent taste, the first two are always on my playlists :>  and I used to listen to a lot of country in highschool (still listen to that older stuff occasionally when I'm in the mood) and that was one that I always loved!

I'm listening to "Arms" by Christina Perri, might've seen Del mention it at one point and I'm digging it.  also "Beautiful Mess" by Jason Mraz since I've been working on an AMV to it.  so I practically hear it in my dreams, heh.

Well, to be fair, Rev, most of us Americans don't know much about American history, either.

I've heard lots of praise for Hamilton not listened to it yet.

Currently been listening to Ke$ha's Die Young on repeat at work. Only thing keeping me awake. @_@

Also new country music artist Craig Campbell has a song call Outskirts of Heaven, I like it, it makes me think of my dad.

It is! It's glorious!  Anyway...   We also have been listening to Cool For the Summer by Demi Levato a lot too.  Down remembered it existed last week, so I bought it and we keep listening to it in the car.  Typically followed by Cut To the Feeling.

"Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. It's just so heartbreaking and soulbreaking and devastating and - I can't handle it.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and cried to. I can't even describe it.
Trent Reznor is unbelievably amazing.

..............not precisely a 'song' but the last thing I've deliberately listened to is Mendolssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor.

For Orchestra AU reasons mostly.
