Title: MKR Tomy trading cards (image heavy!)
Post by: VKiera on August 28, 2015, 03:40:15 AM
So we were talking about Rayearth merc in the chat and these tomy cards came up. So I'd thought I'd share the images of them I have saved. For reference sake, and ignore the white stars on the cards, it's how I keep up with the ones I already have.

The cards were produced in Japan in 1999 I believe and are a heavy thick plastic, like a credit card.

These are the separate sets, most common first.

And these are the rares!

Close up's on the next post!  ;D

these are soo cool, my eyes are stars...!  the Autozam one and 2nd one of the Knights together, never seen those before.  and only just very recently first saw the one of the third pic + the s1 baddies family portrait.  I'm still surprised when I see new official art after all these years.

but yeah, never knew about these.  they're soo much nicer than flimsy cards, it seems.  thank you so much for sharing. *u*

*proud owner of a kickass Umi di-cut* ;D

Many years ago, I actually found someone selling the actual packs of these at a convention, and I might've visited that booth about, uh, four or five times? So, yeah, own a bunch of these. Anybody who owns any of these should list which ones they have. See if we have the full set amongst the forum. I'll share mine later.

I'll try to remember to make up a list of the ones I have, maybe on Sunday if I have time!

My rares:
DC2 (Umi Di-cut! :o)
SP2 (Knight shot+Mokona and some sort of white flowers strewn about)
SP6 (Hikaru and Nova)
R01 (Knight shot, Fuu hasn't learned to use her sword yet)
R08 (Cherry blossoms! In case you didn't realize this was ANIME)
R13 (The fine fellas of Autozam)
R16 (Why hello there, Tarta and Tatra)

The rest:
004-006 (middle section of the puzzle cards)
017

034
041
046
047
051
052 (You show Mokona who's boss, Presea!)

101
113

Okay, seriously, why are there so many friggin' Primera cards? She is pretty much the least relevant character in Magic Knight Rayearth, all she really does is give Lantis a stat boost and provide a little comic relief. And why don't we get a card with second season Ascot, Caldina, or Lafarga where they're not just shoved in the background? They definitely did more in the second season than Primera!
Why doesn't my OTF get more love? :'(

hee, don't say that too loud, Suz might just try to pilfer it from you! (if she doesn't already have one) Congrats on getting your computer back...reminds me I've been meaning to get the fan looked at on mine. It's been making a little rattle noise sometimes.

I was actually bad and bought two more cards off Ebay last week. >.> Both rares though, whoo!

She'd have to fight me for it, I'm afraid. It was a gift from a friend while I was in high school. As for the computer, believe me, I am extremely glad to have it back. It was a long, stressful two weeks, especially since my computer is actually one of my primary means of stress relief and I had a few other stressors affecting me at the same time.

Some of the nicest Atsuko Ishida artwork for Rayearth was on this cards.  They're very pretty.

I own none of these. Must cost a fortune to gather them all now.

Someone needs to keep me the hell off of Ebay man >.> I just bought some more of these cards, it was too good to pass up bought lots of 13 and like 20 something cards. I'll end up with some doubles most likely, sooo if anyone is up for trading, I'm all for it. Be it other cards or art work...or what have you.

If you end up with doubles of any of the ones with Ascot (minus the one I already have, of course), hit me up. You know I'm always a slut for Ascot. In my own asexual way.

So like, if everyone doesn't know already I scored a huge lot of these off of ebay and pretty much own every common card now, save for

(17) (20) (32) (33) (87)

I now also have all the Rs with several doubles, sometimes triples in the case of the common cards. So if anyone wants to trade, or you know just very badly want a particular card, if I have an extra I might be persuaded to part with it >.> since you know they're not super expensive or hard to like mail around the world.

Sadly none of the SS, SP or di-cut cards in the lot. None of the TOs either.

I have doubles of Ascot cards now Mokona, and some of the extra puzzle pieces too!

UPDATE: Via shady back-alley dealings, an agreement to trade cards has been reached. This is a momentous occasion that deserves commemorating, and if you have cake available, you should eat it now. Thank you.

UPDATE THE SECOND: Cards have been successfully exchanged via post. VK now has a slightly more complete collection, and I have more cards with Ascot on them, so win-win.

Now I think the only card I have that VK doesn't is my Umi di-cut, but hell if I'm giving that up. I will, however, leave it to you in my will, VK. ;)

Haha, well thank you Mokona. Let's just hope you nothing happens to you in the meantime.  ;)

I got a hold of a Fuu di-cut card on ebay to day, kekeke. I will eventually get all of them!
