Fuu/Ferio is my OTP, period. 

Blah... I knew I forgot some pairings, *hits self in head*, so I added them to the poll. I know there are more pairings left, but I think I'm just going to leave it at that, since I think I got all the important ones ^_^... Wow Ferio/Fuu, and Umi/Clef are tied... I say go Clemi forever!!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D

I think it pretty much goes Clef/Umi or Fuu/Ferio here...Hikaru, sadly, doesn't get much love.  Actually, you have to see the <strike>crack!</strike>fanfiction on the MKR challenge community to see some real...well, interesting things...

I'm meant to be asleep, but I couldn't resist posting in here...

My het OTP is Clemi, and always has been. XD I've TRIED many times, but I just can't see either of them working in a different het pair. ^^; That being said, I'm also managed to slash Clef with just about every male on Cephiro in some way, sooo... (I actually wrote a cracked out Humanform!Selece/Clef fic once. I had a high temp at the time.)

LaFarga/Caldina I can't break up, ever, either. ^^

Clemi is winning!!!! *does a happy dance* Though I guess there arn't many Hikaru/Lantis fans on this forum... O.o I'm a little surprised... but I'm happy clemi is winning! ^_^

Umm, my favorite paring is.... Duh! ClefXUmi! They're so cute! xD Especially that Guru, Clef. It's hard not to like Clef! He's smart, mature, cute, kind, caring, and..... well, he's just cute. ^^; Heh heh, you agree with me, right? ClefXUmi forever!!

I see a big tend of those on this forum being Clemi fans and a scattering of Ferio/Fuu (as their main favorites). ^.^ Would people actually hurt me if I told them my third favorite pairing was actually... Ascot x Umi? LOL.

Interesting.   I have personally never seen that pairing as a possiblity from the beginning, but that is just me.  To each, her own.  Even if the A/U pairing is becoming the lesser of the two pairings in recent years.  It also mean worse U/C fiction.   Bah!

At least Clemi is out there. In 1999 you had to search so hard to find any of it. If you found something it seemed to be Umi/Ascot. urgh.

I just can't ever fit it into a normal-canon fic.

Clemi does seem extremely cute, though I don't actually believe it has a good chance. To be honestly honestly honestly honest, I think that the manga is more Umi/Ascot oriented. There was only the one scene in the manga, and absolutely nothing else. The anime has a little more Clemi though....

Of course, if you wanna go all the way to the OAV, then it's absolute hardcore Clemi right there. <3

Interesting, it's like a scale. The manga has the lowest Clemi, the anime a little bit of Clemi, and then the OAV which has it as obvious canon.....

and the more Umi/Clef, the further away from the original story. O_o;;;;

So I'd guess I'd go for Umi/Ascot. *shot*


As for Hikaru fandom, we all know that I'm a Hikaru fan, so I'd obviously have a pairing for her... *points at avatar*

I'd guess I'd go for the obvious canon pairing, since there wasn't many choices to pick. MKR doesn't leave you with a lot of choices, since it doesn't really emphasize a lot on couples... -_____-''' And Lantis and Hikaru are cute anyways. <3

...Maybe it's Lantis' family curse to fall in love with the pillar; just one of my crazy ideas... XD

Also, to tell the truth, I don't like Eagle that much. *is shot again*

I voted for Lafarga/Caldina because out of all the pairings on the list, this is a pairing that I'd be inspired to write and I'd read only from a summary that might say nothing more than "Lafarga/Caldina!"  I'd read the others, but the summary had better be interesting to pull in.  Besides, I think they're really, really cute.  I just remember the blushing cuteness that was in the manga when Caldina was asked why she stuck around Cephiro instead of going back to Chizeta, and I smile.  Seriously, WTF, Lafarga was blushing.  It blew me away, like if CLAMP ever drew Lantis blushing.  I think I'd be a Lantis/Hikaru fanatic if they drew Lantis blushing.  (To be honest, I do like Lantis/Hikaru, I really do... but more of a "I'll accept this as canon" way and I prefer it over Eagle/Hikaru anyway.)

If I hadn't felt obliged to put my otp down I'd have gone for Lafarga/Caldina, I think. Because, yes, cute. XD

I don't know how to make a poll, or I'd do a yaoi one. XDDD

I would also have to say that outside of my favourite pairing, Lafarga/Caldina is second place. I do love the two of them together, and unlike what I say about other pairings (and the need for fluffy kittens) they do have a level of depth.  I always think about writing for that pairing, but it just hasn?t happened yet.

And, Down, there should be a poll button.  If you want to make one, you are more than welcome to.  I will laugh.

Bearit, Geo/Tatra is an interesting thought, and might work.

Hehe, I've actually loved the idea of Geo/Tatra for a long while.  The idea, to me, is just too sickeningly cute to avoid.  I mean, I love my Geo/Eagle, but that just gets to be too angsty sometimes.  Geo/Tatra would not necessarily be angsty, and uber uber cute.

... maybe because in a way, Tatra reminds me of what a female!Eagle would be like.  Except, you know, sans a death wish.  Therefore, sans the angst.  *lol*  (I love angst, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I just want a happy, fluffy fic, and I think Geo/Tatra would be just that.  I've wanted to write a fic for them for a long time, but I can't seem to ever come up with a good way to get them together.  D: Curse non-canon pairings, making my life difficult!  though for some reason it was a lot easier for me to write a Zazu/Ascot fic without too much trouble....... I just lost motivation to finish it ^^;)

Along the lines of Lafarga/Caldina, I am surprised more people don't write about them.  Or draw them.  Maybe I'll try my hand at writing a fic about them, just to increase the number of fics there are about them, because, uh, I think Aska/Sang Yung might have more fics dedicated to them.  ^^;  (Another couple I adore, but... Lafarga and Caldina are more established canon than Aska and Sang Yung! *flails*)

That obviously seems to be the preferred pairing of the board, but then again, not all members weighed in.

I do find it rather amusing since back when I started reading and writing fics, Umi/Clef was definitely not the prefered pairing.  Most fic was Fuu/Ferio and Umi was paired with Ascot more often than not, but then something changed.  I'm not sure what started the trend really.

Well, if more people were actively writing, we might have a bigger selection to pick from? ^^; The fans left over seem to have far more a bias than the original fandom did, yes. Mind you, I managed to be a Clemi otp fanatic from......... wait, I can check this *looks up ancient baby!fangirl!ffn account* NOVEMBER 2003 is apparently my cut-off date for ability to read Asmi. ^^; (I tried to write it and worked out the reasons I couldn't. I love both of them, I just... can't see it working, long term, so it makes me SAD. and also I am obsessive about Clef and Umi. NOT THAT ANYONE WILL HAVE NOTICED THAT. *wry look at her ffn, ao3 and devart accounts*)

Also there's that whole thing where I am the one and only person in the universe who has decided to ship Zazu and Ascot. XDDDDDDD Based on one lone image XDDDDDDDD

I was given Fuu/Umi/(Hikaru) for Yuletide last year, that was awesome. XD

Mind you, clearing out my desk last year I found about a dozen pages of 'Clef and Ferio have to get married due to REASONS and this results in F/F/C/U' set in the manga verse, which even my crack ideas about the OVA are less crack than. XDD

(One day I may well actually see if I can write Clef/Umi/Ascot and get it to balance, because I am curious to see if that would get me over the issues I have with Ascot/Umi~ Because Ascot is adorable, but she'd totally squish him. But if he had backup and was able to keep the other two from fighting when they turned vicious... because two people with that much temper are going to hurt each other on occasion...)

It was technically the first hint of romance in MKR.... Unless you count Umi and Clef arguing. (I sort of count that as how some younger kids flirt.... by getting on the girls' nerves!) it isn't very affective. Well with the exception of Clemi.

I............ apart from the thing I apparently have for Clef and Ferio friendship/whatevermore (and can someone else PLEASE write the fic in which Ferio's in the forest at the beginning because that's the most he thinks he can do to help his sister - keep an eye on the monsters and help out any travellers who need it - and is in touch, if very loosely, with Clef as the first season happens? And they have awkward painful conversations about how the Knights are because while neither of them actually want the knights to win, neither of them want to see them hurt? And so Clef tells Ferio when they all have magic/when the Mashin are awakened and everything, and Ferio wants to know but at the same time does NOT and it's all - ridiculous and angstful. XD And then the end happens, and they actually see each other for the first time since things began, and neither of them manages to TALK about it or about their plans until you get to the bit where Clef admits he's going to tell the next potential pillar the whole truth and Ferio hears him and THEN they manage to talk! And there's Emotional Resolution because they UNDERSTAND why they both did what they did and how and things aren't awkward any more and they're friends~ and Ferio takes back his )

(which may or may not be the backstory to their friendship in PY - not so much the ANGSTY LETTERS OF ANGST but the awareness they lived under that same tension and didn't know quite what to make of each other or how far to trust each other in the second series because coming out and ASKING would have been giving away their own position, which - the Guru and the Prince (however honorary the title is) being at odds? When the country was without Pillar and Sol, and the head of the Guard had been brainwashed for the previous howeverlong? would not have been good for stability - and this being CEPHIRO that stability is LITERAL. XD and when Ferio walks in on that decision - the look they give each other then, assessing their position, and realising they are IN AGREEMENT - I LOVE THE TENSION IN THAT MOMENT OKAY. And from then they are a UNITED FRONT, Ferio willing to play the clown but also to drop the act if he needs to to back Clef~! Working towards a new Cephiro~!)

APART FROM ALL THAT (dear brain was that really the appropriate moment to decide to ramble about that) I REALLY WANT THE FIC in which Umi and Ferio are best friends who hang out together to complain about their significant others who are ALWAYS WORKING AND FOREVER HAVE THEIR NOSE IN A BOOK and to agree that distracting them is fun, and argue about fighting styles, and they may or may not get drunk and sit on the top of the Castle teaching each other silly drinking songs while Clef and Fuu both SIGH and smile at each other and then herd their one back to bed~~~~~

(And have very little sympathy for the hangovers the next morning)

(though now it means that Ferio can start humming as he walks past Umi in the hall and she'll choke on laughter, and she can do the same to him in the middle of an important meeting or just when he's trying to have a conversation with Fuu~)

My friend!shipping feelings for them are swiftly reaching RIDICULOUS, but I think I like Fuu/Ferio too much to ship it romantically unless Fuu is also involved and Clef? ^^
