While capping, I've run across several caps that just begged to have captions, so I made a few macros (or should I call them "lolcaps"? "lolknights"?) out of them....hope you like! (one has spoilers for the end of the MKR II manga, though.)







If people like these, I'll happily post more as I make them. :3 Would love to see some from others, too!

Been a while since this was updated, but I'm new and hey, it looks fun!

1. The first character I fell in love with Ascot! To be honest, I think it was Mona Marshall's voice that did it, shallow as that sounds (I saw the dub first.) She did the character very well.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now Umi. I found her annoying when first I read Rayearth, and now coming back to it I'm realizing how much more realistic her reactions can be, even when exaggerated, than the others'. She's also an interesting bundle of paradoxes, and I like characters like that.

3. The character everyone loves that I don't Clef, unfortunately. Though the way they handled him in the second season of the anime probably contributes to that ("he's too overpowered! Let's have him always get exhausted so he can't do too much!") so I'm being unfair to him as a character.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates Nova! A million times Nova. I don't actually know if people hate her or not, but I don't see her being discussed much anywhere. I'm not necessarily a fan of the decision to have An Evil for the girls to face in a show that's about moral ambiguity, but Nova as a character appeals to me very much. I'm a sucker for the playful, childish psycho-type, and also for characters with interestedly twisted worldviews.

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer Fuu. It's not that I don't love her anymore--I do--but she used to be my favorite Magic Knight but, coming back, I like Umi and Hikaru more, in that order.

6. The character I would shag anytime ....None, actually.

7. The character I'd want to be like Again, I don't really have one. I see admirable traits in all of them, the girls especially, but also enough failings to make me from saying I want to be like them.

8. The character I'd slap Emeraude and Zagato. Let's think about our problem instead of resorting to the way things have always been done, shall we? ^_^; I guess it's part and parcel of the flawed nature of the Pillar System that they don't even seem to wonder if there were alternate courses of action. I can't think of any myself, but...still...

9. A pairing that I love It's not a romantic pairing, I don't really support any of those for this fandom, but Caldina and Ascot's friendship/pseudofamily dynamic in season 1 of the anime. It added a lot to their characters, in my opinion, to actually see them doing normal things like owning a house instead of just standing ominously behind that curtain of water all the time. Framing them like that got them to show off more aspects of their personalities and also humanized them beyond The Next Big Threat, while also making the fact that these characters you'd started to identify with were now attacking the Magic Knights an even more jarring moral dilemma. Sympathy for the villains has been done before in more complex ways, but for the target audience of this show I'd say this relationship was handled quite well.

10. A pairing that I despise I am going to be tossed out of here on my behind, but I think that both Hikaru's feelings for Lantis and any feelings Umi may or may not have had for Clef were born a good deal from guilt. I also don't think their personalities are compatible in the long run--once Hikaru is back to her more energetic self she'll want someone who's more willing to go out and do things with her and who's there for her beyond just when she's in trouble, and Umi needs someone who's going to call her bluffs, yes, but not get irritated by them the way I think Clef would after a while with his low tolerance for shenanigans. Basically, they both need people who are going to be able to laugh with them and do more normal things with them beyond their save-the-world mode, and I don't think Lantis and Clef can provide that, among other reasons, but this paragraph is long enough as it is. ^_^

And that's it. I'm open to discussion about anything if anyone wants to do so. ^_^

Hello all. New here, rejoining the fandom proper after several years of being a casual fan. But anyways. I bring images, and lots of them!

Since I wasn't able to find many caps etc. online I decided to start extensively capping the anime myself, and created a Photobucket account, http://s245.photobucket.com/albums/gg80/LegendaryMagicKnights/, to host my screencaps. My focus is mainly on the Magic Knights themselves, with the supporting cast being lumped into an "Others" folder for now, but as I cap more and more episodes I strongly suspect that'll be changing.

I've got episodes 1-4 and the special features (galleries, omake endings) for the first two discs up right now, and that gives me:

Hikaru: 182 caps
Others (Zagato, Emeraude, Innouva, Mokona, Clef, Presea, Ferio, and Mira so far): 139 caps
Umi: 137 caps
"Stupid Shots" (funny/awkward-looking poses): 123 caps

I hope for updates to be fairly frequent, but this isn't the only show I'm capping and there's also RL to consider so...can't make promises. ^____^;;; Will try my best, though!

Also, if anyone here likes lineart, I have scans of all the lineart (plus a couple pages about the bizarre live-action commercials for the video games) from Anime Album #1 zipped up here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G1S5S99S I would have uploaded these to Photobucket too, but it shrank them too much and lost details.
