What are you writing about?

Well..... we start tomorrow.  This is my first year attempting this, so wish me luck.  I thought it would be fun to share what type os story and plot line we are planning to work with.


I'm currently calling mine Water.  Not sure what it will be called officially, but that's my working title. 

It's pretty much a reworking of the fic I mentioned here years ago. Many characters are still reasonably recognizable as their Rayearth counterparts right now, we'll see if that changes at all.

Summary's more or less the same too: Seven years after running away from the court, Mirea returns to Kathica only to find a country completely in ruins. Joining forces with the handful of fighters and magic users left in the wake of this distruction, she must find the mage she loves or die trying.

There's some hand-wavy crap in the finale I will have to address when i get to it, but I rather love this story still. Perhaps I should try to draw my characters a bit.....

ETA: There is also a very good chance I will play with Dragon's Den a bit too.

I am writing the sequel to Protecting You. For the second year running.

...thus I can't tell you the summary because it's spoilery for the end of PY? *laughing at self*

BUT ESSENTIALLY someone high in the UCA is murdered, and Clef is called to investigate it for Political Reasons... with extra Cephiran Political Tangles coming along for the ride... (and I don't even mean Umi. XD) But the internal politics of the world where they're investigating are getting in the way of seeing if there's something more to this than just the murder of a figure who had far too much personal power which is now up for grabs...

eh, murder mystery, more assassination attempts! and politics. More of the same, really. Even if the knots things are tied in are bigger than before. Hopefully. Heh.

Here's my synopsis/summary/whathaveyou:

Fifteen years ago a pandemic swept the planet, aggressively targeting the brain and wiping out almost all of humanity. A small fraction of humans, immune to the virus, survived and are trying to rebuild our civilization.

Our heroes are five teens who were in utero during the pandemic, whose mothers were all immune to the virus. They learn that some sentient non-human species have seen this as a sign of the end of humanity?s rule over the planet and wish to keep us from flourishing again. A large civilization of crows are currently working with ancient nature spirits to wage a sort of dream terrorism against humanity.

The disease the kids survived during their fetal development has altered their minds and bodies, allowing them to enter the astral plane and manipulate the elements to battle these spirits. Along with the help of some crows who have defected and some nature spirits that are on our side, these five teenagers must confront these antagonistic spririts to defend humanity?s future on this planet.
