WHAT kinds of feelings do you guys have about them??

I have a lot.  I mean, specifically for Fuu and Windam of course, but the general concepts of the Mashin are very interesting to me.  The fandom doesn't do much with them (except draw them sometimes) but I've always loved the possibilities of the Knight/Mashin relationship.  I did some word dump about some of my feelings here a while back.

Obviously we don't get too much going on in the manga, but in the anime when the girls are taken away by the other countries, their Mashin take the time to reassure them and comfort them.  The Mashin seem to be pretty hands-off and on a need-to-know basis with the Knights, despite the fact that their hearts need to be synched up to each other.  But in these scenes the girls push a little for a relationship.  Umi asks to chat with Selece at a later date, to learn about him.  Fuu makes sure it's okay that she's just calling him Windam, and not "Windam-san".  And he pauses, surprised.  Like, they're not just mecha with a consciousness, they seem to be sentient individuals with their own personalities and thoughts.

Del recently posted some cool brain-breaky headcanons including two about the Knights and Mashin, right here.  And my brain just kind of having a field day with them, using them as a jumping point to explore more possibilities.

There has to have been Magic Knights in the past.  There's no way Emeraude was the first Pillar, but canon never says if a Pillar eventually dies, or if they live forever due to their position until the safeguard of the Knights is used for whatever reason.  The Mashin say they've been waiting eons for the Knights, but they could be exaggerating.  I think it's just been a damn long time since the last Knights were around.  So have Rayearth, Windam and Selece bonded with Magic Knights in the past?  Do they still think about them?  Do they miss them?  Or is it more like Del's headcanon where Knights are reincarnated into the next "set" of Mashin? 

INTERESTING STUFF WHY DON'T PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THIS MORE IS WHAT I WANNA KNOW.  You guys all have rockhard awesome headcanons.  What are your thoughts on these fellows?  I get so damn choked up watching/reading them connect with their Mashin.


Then there's always the manga image of the three of them frolicking amongst flowers in That Other Dimension Thing while His Holiness The Creator happily swings on a bunch of flowers.  I can't find it, someone pls post it omg because SO CANON.


Also I may or may not (hint: definitely may) be working reconnecting with the Mashin into current!fic and may or may not (hint: also probably may) be fishing for some ideas because sharing headcanons just makes richer fan content IMHO.
