Holiday Fanfic Swap 2015

How it works:  You say what kind of fic you'd like and what kind of fic you're able to write.  I'll match up a gifter and recipient.  Starting in December, you can post it and make them happy, and someone will have written for you as well.  Yay!  Happy Winter Friends!

• The fic you write must be at least 1000 words long. (You can make it much longer if you wish)
• You can post the fic to Tumblr, Fanfiction.net, AO3, or wherever you like. Please link it either in reply to this post and/or on Tumblr using the tag #MKR Holiday Fic Swap
• If you'd like to sign up to be a pinch hitter, just say so at the bottom of your application. If someone's unable to fill their prompt for their recipient, you might get that recipient and have to write a fic at the last minute (you will have at least two weeks to do so).  Likewise, if you think you're going to be unable to write your fic, please let me know as soon as possible. Of course I hope we won't need any pinch hitters, but I want to have that backup so everyone gets their gift.

okay, I've never been in charge of one of these before but I've participated in similarly small, single-fandom ones before, so bear with me! 

I will also post this to tumblr since there's many folks in the fandom there that aren't on the forum here, just in case they want to participate.  actually I made up a separate blog so they can all be shared there, to make things easier.  will add the blog link to the above post when it's ready to go.

also since I'm doing the behind-the-scenes stuff, I'm going to fill out the info for myself but not assign anyone to write for me as that doesn't seem quite fair (also the whole point is that it's a surprise).  SOoo if anybody decides they can write for me, leave me an ANONYMOUS message on my fandom blog to let me know that someone's picked it up~  (I'll edit this post once someone has volunteered)

any characters/relationships you want avoided?: not specifically, I love everyone and don't mind any ships in the background.
general Likes: fluff (romantic and otherwise), smut, fluffy smut, smutty fluff, atmospheric quiet moments, awkward conversations that bring parties closer together, drunken shenanigans.
general Dislikes: while I do like AUs I'd rather something in canonverse unless the AU really has something to add. like I don't want just a Fuu/Ferio AU meetcute. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- Fuu tags along one time Hikaru visits Autozam, ends up hanging out with Eagle. I just think Fuu and Eagle would get along awesome.
- Ferio/Ascot love-hate broship (they drive each other nuts) just chilling, perhaps drunken shenanigans kekeke
- Fuu/Ferio/Umi smut in some capacity <3
- Fuu and Emeraude being able to just be friends ;u;
- Caldina embarrassing my faves is always good too.

characters/relationships you're most comfortable writing: Fuu, Ferio, Umi, those are easiest for me to write. I can probably manage any other character.
tropes you're most comfortable writing: fluff (romantic and otherwise), vanilla/tame smut, quiet moments, introspection, shenanigans.
characters/relationships you're NOT comfortable writing: I will make a solid attempt at just about any, I'd think, but I'm not good with Hikaru's canon ships or established Umi/Ascot when they have to carry a scene.
things you absolutely will not write: gore, noncon/rapey, kinky/fetish of course... though tbh we're a pretty tame fandom, I'm not too worried :p  oh and anything that requires excessive worldbuilding, I'm lazy.

which characters/relationships would you most like in your gift?: If anyone was brave enough I'd love to have someone else write some Umi/Eagle, but I also don't mind Hikaru/Lantis or Umi/Ascot if my crack otp is a little too much for someone. Oh hell just any fics about Eagle usually tickle my fancy.
any characters/relationships you want avoided?: I'm not a big fan of Clef/Umi or Eagle/Geo, other wise I really don't mind
general Likes: I don't mind AUs, but I generally like the usual romance, drama, comedy, I do like historical AUs to an extent, fluff, or some smut if you take on my crack OTP, ; D
general Dislikes: Eeh I'm not big into gore, at least not with Rayearth, I get that quota filled by reading Baccano fics

~There's a part of my brain that always likes fics with Eagle as some form of fighter pilot when in AUs
~I also like when fics that get into his head space right before or during the invasion of Cephiro.
~Something with Eagle and Umi and sweets, a la baking?
~Also I'm on board with Suz, and Eagle/Fuu friendshippy fic would be awesome, maybe with them play a game, chess, checkers, RISK? lol ~I'm pretty easy to please really, if Eagle's in the fic I'll generally like it.

characters/relationships you're most comfortable writing: Umi/Eagle, Hikaru/Lantis, Fuu/Feiro, most canon stuff really, not great at Clef/Umi but well I'd sure give it a go if requested. I don't mind Hikaru/Eagle or Lantis/Eagle either.
tropes you're most comfortable writing: slice of life, introspective stuff, some light comedy, drama, I can even crank out a decent mystery fic if called upon, friendshippy fics with just about any of the characters really.
characters/relationships you're NOT comfortable writing: Geo/Eagle I don't like, I admittedly don't have a lot of experience writing female/female stuff, but well I'd try? lol
things you absolutely will not write: eh, I'd try to write anything really, besides, creepy rape fics or the like, though ask for smut at your own risk, lol
are you willing to write any gifts that will need filled last minute?: Yes, though the sooner someone lets me know the better.

any characters/relationships you want avoided?: Obviously Clef/Umi (excepting when Ascot's in the mix)
general Likes: Fine with AUs or canon. It's way easier to explain what I don't like than what I like, because for the most part, I just love getting other people to think about Ascot.
general Dislikes: Please no stalker!AU, no noncon/rape. Not really a fan of smut just for smut's sake, doesn't really do much for me.
approximate max rating you'd be comfortable with: (Gen, Teen, Mature, Explicit) I'm okay with Explicit only if you're someone really confident in your ability to do it well. Otherwise, no more than Mature.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE JUST FIVE?! All right, here goes:

• Develop one of the random beasties and explain how they met Ascot/how they interact with him/their last thoughts (if they were one of the ones that died)
• Dragon!Umi and Ascot
• Shopping Buddies Ascot and Caldina (either in an AU or in canon, perhaps perusing the Cephiran Bazaar I'm convinced exists)

And in lieu of two more prompts, I'm just gonna direct people to the 'my stuff' tag on my tumblr. There's 27 pages, including stuff like headcanons, random AU ideas, ficlets, random thoughts on the characters/series, and SO MUCH ASCOT. If anything there strikes a chord, be sure to check the reblogs, because sometimes other people add stuff and it gets better. Even if nothing specific inspires you, that should at least give you a good idea of what sort of stuff makes me fanflail.

characters/relationships you're most comfortable writing: Well, Ascot is pretty much default mode, but for the sake of the season, I'm willing to give writing any other characters my best shot. Except Debonair and Sierra, but I doubt many are clamoring for them anyway.
tropes you're most comfortable writing: Introspection, humor, and angst seem to come easiest to me. Fluff and action are tougher, but doable. Better at gen than shippy, overall.
characters/relationships you're NOT comfortable writing: Clemi.
things you absolutely will not write: No smut, noncon/rape, or gore. Otherwise, I'll try.
