UPDATE WARNING!!!!!

Hey, Everyone!

Just letting you know that I am plotting a complete overhaul update of Cephiro in July!

(For those who care, we're talking at least updating to the latest version of SMF. We're on 2.0.2, and the current version is 2.0.10. It would make sure we don't get any large gaps in security again. I would also like to put the board onto a new clean install of SMF, because it has been dragged around a bit due to poor planning and hosting combination on my part.)

The board may be offline for a little while (week at most, unless I accidentally torch the whole thing in the process), as I am also planning to change some things regarding my current host, which will complicate a few things regarding it and DNT....

Okay.... Down and I are going to leaving for the States on Thursday, but I thought I might tinker with this whole update things a touch before leaving, by testing out a theory.

I've pulled the most recent database backup from earlier today and stuck it into the database for a clean install of SMF, just to see how it does.   

If anyone wants to tinker, play around and make some random shit posts and stuff on it to see if it seems to be working normally, go right ahead http://psynos.net/testcephiro/index.php.  I changed the theme to the basic SMF, so no one gets confused about which is the real thing, but you should be able to change your view back, if you like.

Please let me know if you see any weird glitches.  Because I think I am just going to do this.


But because of planned changes with the host, there will probably still be some down time as I change database configurations!

what kind of bugs/glitches would we be looking for?  I've never really done this before :p  I did make a nonsense post and can verify that random markup stuff for posts seems to be working.  which is super helpful, I'm sure.

Basically, just checking that everything seems to be working alright.   It looks like it is, but I will not trust it to be just yet.....

The update is done.  Let me know if there are any glitches.   I have the former forum copy stuck in a random folder, so I can completely revert to it if necessary, if something is off, but I think this should be good.

I've fixed the forum time.  Don't know if anyone noticed that it switched itself or not.  It decided it was the top location in Africa on the list.  I've switched it back to UTC.  Most of you probably have your personal profiles set to adjust automatically to your time zone, but you can do that in profiles.
