How long do you think it took the country to fall apart like that after Emeraude was dead? Weeks? Month? Years?

I mean, it felt like the girls were in Cephiro for weeks in MKR and the world was only beginning to crumble, but I suppose that was just because Emeraude stopped putting all her energy into praying for it.  But how quickly do you think it crumbled after?

And how long did it take them to make that castle and pull EVERYONE into it?

The things I think about on the drive to my job, right?

I think it's one of those things that snowballed.  It started slowly, while the Knights were first there, but it did start to crumble faster and faster as Emeraude's spirit deteriorated.  I think after she died, there was probably a huge lurch as the world was probably in a sort of shock, suddenly fully losing its entire support system.  Then it was rapidly downhill from there.  The snowball became massive and started taking out everything in its path.

The anime doesn't go into any other magic users in (what I've always referred to as) the Pillar's Court.  I don't buy the MKR2 anime's explanation that the Pillar is determined just by some magic object.  I think there has to be some sort of group that not only finds the candidates, but also educate/train/whatever them when they've been chosen as the Pillar.  Clef has a very very very high rank and a lot of responsibility but he can't do everything.

Clef has had many students.  There's a lot of powerful people in Cephiro that are never mentioned.  He had to have had help constructing the castle (with Will, I assume).  It probably took a week or two of constant work, at the very least, to get the basics of the castle up.  Details probably came later (the fountains, the furnishings, whatnot).  It had to take another few weeks, at the least, to get the population of Cephiro herded into the castle.  It's not a very big country but there has to be at least, at least, five digits' worth of population.

I always felt it was maybe half a year or so, Cephiro-time, between the Knights' first and second visit.  The gives them time to make a quick plan, to get the powerful people together, to construct the castle, to find and evacuate everyone, and then get themselves organized.

The time difference between Cephiro and Earth is key, I believe, in this. The girls are in Cephiro originally for weeks if not close to two or so months however they are brought back to earth with barely a second missing. How long would it also take any invading force to get word from cephiro that the pillar had fallen, load transport/materials/ready for invasion, and then travel back to the planet. I also imagine that magic, though prevalent in Cephiro, is more often than not found to lesser degrees than what is featured in the 'Pillar's Court'. The normal laborer would probably be bound by their own limitations on what they believe they can do, and with the Pillar system crumbling I imagine that the Pillar's court would have other things on their mind besides building a tardis like castle. They would need the aid of the normal laborer and this would indeed take time. So you have several factors pointing towards a longer period of time to actually bring everything together while the world is suffering from a cascade effect of being held up by the fraying minds of the populace as word spreads about the Pillar being gone. Remember word would also need to reach the people before their hearts would become corrupt. With magic involved I summarize it would take about 2-3 years give or take 6 months. Certainly a shorter time than any non-magic peoples but longer than if the world was comprised of completely magical Pillar Court types.

I also like to think that during these years Ferio and Clef struggled. Pftt, why do I like angst?
