Ferio and Fuu are one of the cutest couples in MKR.

I wonder, how was Ferio attracted to Fuu?

I feel there are some similarities between fuu and Emeraude.

Both have massive green eyes(the manga coloring), blonde hair, a soft smile. Both are also very kind and gentle and polite. Was it what drew Ferio to Fuu in the first place?

Are you baiting me?  Because I could talk about these two for paragraphs upon paragraphs.  May I write you a book here?~

IMHO, in the manga, Ferio was first attracted to Fuu because he saw that she was clever and sly, and he found that charming.  Then there's a scene where she turns down his offer to help, saying it's not his fight, and there's this look on his face of like "wow" and admiration and asfkgaklhdgs
The thing with the manga is that everything is so condensed and happens so fast, that it's hard to say why their feelings ended up running so deep after spending just a day together.  She's a girl that he was attracted to, yet he gave Emeraude's ring to her?  Something so precious?  It does seem hasty if you think about it.  When they see each other again in MKR2, you can tell there's a lot of intense feelings between them, even though all they really did before was flirt.  I think the time apart made them pine for each other?  Then in MKR2 they have time to spend together, to get to know each other. <3

In the anime it's nice because there's more time to establish those deep feelings.  At first, Ferio just saw that Fuu was too clever and cautious to fool, so he went with the flirting approach, then gave her the orb to spy on the girls.  But when he saw how Fuu came out to rescue him, knowing it was a trap, and seeing her strength, well, he found that hot admired that.  I think that's when he actually started having feelings for her in the anime (though she obviously had since their first encounter).  Then, obviously, that grows with time and it makes a bit more sense that they mean so much to each other by the time they're reunited in MKR2.

I also think he appreciates that she flirts back.  Fandom tends to act like Ferio is the flirt and Fuu just blushes, but especially in the manga and in the desert episode, Fuu flirts with him, too.  They have a sweet, affectionate banter that I just adore and help me I'm getting feelings someone else say something.

Aaaaand yes yes, I've often thought of how Fuu resembles Emeraude a bit.  They both have sort of sad eyes, too.  I don't think in the manga or anime Ferio was attracted to her because of his sister, but I believe that after Emeraude's death, he sometimes sees Emeraude in Fuu, just for a brief second out of the corner of his eye, and that makes him sad.  I wrote a one-shot fic about that, actually, and how in losing Emeraude, he got Fuu (because he'd've never met Fuu if Emeraude was able to keep living).  IT'S SO SAD BUT PRETTY.

*Evil grin* of course I am baiting you! I am looking into all the character relationships for my fic, and the chapter after the next is about ferio and fuu and I need to understand them more. It didn't help the manga has little information about them.

I like your insight into the series.

Boy, I have to revisit both the anime, manga and trawl through a lot of character analysis in all the fan sites as part of my research!

You are welcome to write the book! I would love to read it!

Ah, it's true, I never thought about the differences between the manga and anime - I like the progression of their relationship in season one of the anime, but I also love how in the manga it's very actually storybook/fairy-tale but still ends up being an amazing, fulfilling relationship.
