My first blog post about Rayearth in October 2000...

This is so horrible!  A while back, I found my Diaryland account from when I was 15 years old, on the Wayback Machine (it was an online diary before LiveJournal and blogging was even a thing!).  It's horribly horribly embarrassing.  Some are so embarrassing that I have to share.

Apparently I wrote about when I first got into Rayearth.  It's a treat.

WELL. I am sooo happy cuz I have another anime to add to my list of top fav anime! Magic Knight Rayearth! ^.~v See, a kid in my art class luv'd my drawings, and he asked if I read manga. I told him that I like to, but I am always broke. ~_~*** So he lent me his friend's MKR manga over the weekend. I luuuuuuv'd it! :P Becca read it like 5 times @ least. So Sunday we went to Suncoast cuz I had $30 to blow. We got a MKR video w/ the first 4 eps on it, the 7th and 8th Evangelion eps(sumthin and "Asuka Strikes!" -- which is why I got that one, I luuuv Asuka!), a Trunks shirt (long sleeves so I can wear it during the wintah! I luv it!), and we each got a Tenchi poster, the one that's a spoof on Star Wars. ^^ The Evangelion vid was 30 freakin bucks but it was worth seeing Asuka-san!

It's hard to pick a fav Magic Knight... Hikaru is so kawaii and bold... Umi is so hyper and... me-ish ^^... And I like Fuu as a person... I can draw Fuu pretty good. My Hikaru attempts so far SUCK and my Umi pic was eeeeeeeehhhhhh.... :P Ferio is kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute... ::drools:: But not as kute as my Trunksie-poo!

Thanks for sharing! I had also loved MKR when I was 15.
But why did you buy the entire manga when you got the money to blow? Was the entire set not out then?

Oh man, it was probably out.  But I didn't know at the time where to get anime or manga if it wasn't at Suncoast.  They had some Sailormoon MIXX editions, but that was practically it.  Also I was SUPER INTO ANIME more than manga.  It took me a while to watch the entire anime series but I still finished it before I fully read the manga.

Also I love how I say I had $30 to blow but that only covered the Evangelion VHS tape.  I probably begged my mother to pay for the rest.

My mother was very long-suffering during my weeaboo days.

My parents doesn't approve my obsession with anime and manga either. Especially Saint Seiya. They banned me from watching it back then. Now I collected the entire series on DVD! I am still the only family member who likes anime and manga.

My parents didn't... not approve as much as they just didn't understand.

Though it wasn't anything completely new (before anime I was really into Sonic SatAM and Animorphs at different times), I went through the whole obsessed-teenager-WATCH-ALL-THE-ANIMES phase that's quite annoying, so that was something kind of... new for them to put up with.

Oh my goodness! I was into Animorphs too! But only read a few of the books because the studying pressure in HK is too much.
