This is me, avoiding housework, and actually being attentive to the forum.  *pets forum*

I never thought I would ship anything other than Umi/Clef.  I mean, F/F is a given, and variations on H/L/E re fun, but another non-canon ship, and an OT3 at that.  That was surprising.  But I can totally see it working.

I mean, I totally blame this on Down.  I'm not sure I would ship it as much if she didn't tell me the stories as we go to sleep, because she's been thinking about them. I do rather like the whole silly story thing of Down's with Tarta deciding she needs and heir and then she is pregnant with Umi's baby (because magic gender changes are just as easy as magic age changes if you have a strong enough will) and then Umi, Tarta, and Clef all raise the baby in Cephiro.  Clef not willing to father the child genetically because of politics, but perfectly happy to parent it.

That story is probably why I kind of see it as more of the typical type of love triangle.  The one that doesn't meet at the end, because two members aren't into each other.  Because I can totally accept the headcanon that Tarta prefers women. And while she likes Clef and enjoys his company, even might enjoy doing things-better-discussed-in-another-board with him from time to time, she's just not that attracted to him, or really in love with him.

Umi I think I almost beginning to headcanon as definitely poly and open to trying new things. And if we go with the headcanon that Cephiro is pretty open to all relationships, she's still learning this about herself and might be a bit surprised to find that she is attracted to the princess of Chizeta at first. But I can see the whole friendship blooming into something more. It would be nice.

I think I have used this trio as a stepping off point to just full on shipping Umi with anyone and everyone within reason.  Some I feel need balancing out, but I do think this one would be fun to play with.

I can say the first and only thing that came across my mind when thinking of this ot3 was, 'omg can you imagine the shouting matches???' I bet you can hear them all the way to Autozam.
