Holiday Fanfic Swap 2016

How it works:  You say what kind of fic you'd like and what kind of fic you're able to write.  I'll match up a gifter and recipient.  Starting in December, you can post it and make them happy, and someone will have written for you as well.  Yay!  Happy Winter Friends!

• Fill out the info below and I'll do my best to match up someone to write for you.
• Don't tell who you're going to write for, it's a surprise!
• The fic you write must be at least 1000 words long. (You can make it much longer if you wish)
• You can post the fic to Tumblr, Fanfiction.net, AO3, or wherever you like. Please link it either in reply to this post and/or on Tumblr using the tag #MKR Holiday Fic Swap
• If you'd like to sign up to be a pinch hitter, just say so at the bottom of your application. If someone's unable to fill their prompt for their recipient, you might get that recipient and have to write a fic at the last minute (you will have at least two weeks to do so).  Likewise, if you think you're going to be unable to write your fic, please let me know as soon as possible. Of course I hope we won't need any pinch hitters, but I want to have that backup so everyone gets their gift.

any characters/relationships you want avoided?: I'm not a big Clef/Umi fan most other canon stuff I'm cool with. But I don't much care for Nova, so unless you're suddenly going to write her in a way I might like, leave her out.
general Likes: slice of life stuff is great, AUs are cool with me, I'm really not super picky, so have fun.
general Dislikes:I don't like Eagle/Geo much, I prefer them as friends.

tropes you’re most comfortable writing: slice of life, introspective stuff, some light comedy, drama, I can even crank out a decent mystery fic if called upon, friendshippy fics with just about any of the characters really.
characters/relationships you’re NOT comfortable writing: Geo/Eagle I don't like, I admittedly don't have a lot of experience writing female/female stuff, but well I'd try? lol
things you absolutely will not write: eh, I'd try to write anything really, besides, creepy rape fics or the like, though ask for smut at your own risk, lol

tropes you're most comfortable writing: Humor, introspection, angst
characters/relationships you're NOT comfortable writing: Straight-up Clemi. Also, Sierra and Debonair, because to me, those two aren't just pointless additions to the story, they're pointless additions whose contributions only serve to needlessly undermine so much of what was good about MKR in general. Thankfully, neither of them seem to be in high demand.
things you absolutely will not write: stalkers, non-con, smut.
are you willing to write any gifts that will need filled last minute?: Unless I can do Ascot or Caldina or maybe Lafarga, probably not. I know I'm unreliable about that sort of thing.

I guess I didn't make it to the deadline.. I can do some amateur fan art though, and if fan art is included with the event i might have join ^^, too bad it's too late for me.

I hope next time there will be a lot more like this event (hoping to include some fan art with it) ^^,

I was contemplating the idea of taking part in the Fanfic swap too, but I've never written a fanfiction... I love writing, but I don't know whether I'd be able to write a fanfiction!

LoL I thought I was the only one... I am still working on my first fan fiction, I didn't join in this event because I might not make it to the deadline and another thing is that I'm still finding it hard editing it LOL. Yeah maybe next time will be good for us

so she and I are gonna write something for each other this year.  so none of last year's "someone secretly write for suz if they wanna" since it wouldn't be fair for me, as the organizer, to pick for myself :p  also since we're sisters, neither of us will care too much if we're late or it's kinda sub-par or runs short.


next year I'll try to organize it better for fic and art.  I participated in one like that and it was simple enough, just a wee bit more work to assign people but I can't imagine it's much trouble especially since we're a small fandom only six people this year! :(

I'd love it if you opened the swap up to include art (at least if the definition of art includes stuff like graphics and icons). The only reason I've never signed up is because I'm unable to guarantee that I could meet the required fic length on a deadline, especially working from someone else's prompt.
