I was in Waterstones when I saw a manga-ised version of The Bible.

Well, it was actually part of the New Testament, but still.

It made me laugh.

*is a religious studies geek, soon to be a theology geek from September*
Should have wished for unicorns.

I bought melon bread at Mitsuwa and hand a nice katsu don...oh and I bought Death Note the Live Action movie.

"We know what we are, but know not what we may be" ~ Hamlet -  Scene 4, Act 5

My babysitting gig turned out to be easier than originally planned.    Instead of my niece and my current foster brother, it was just my foster brother.  He went to bed 15 minutes ago and I am sitting here watching the end of the Doctor Who marathon on BBCA.

So, yeah I finally have sat down to watch an episode (actually two and a half)  of Doctor Who.  And Mils likes it.

I would gripe about the other things that happened today, but that is what LJ is for. ^.~

Went to the cinema for the first time since coming to Japan. XD Saw Ghost Rider, of all things. (I was quietly hysterical at one point. The movie, I should point out, was not trying to be funny at that moment. Oh dear. ^^;;)

...needed more motorbikes. XD

I got to take a nap since I only had one class today! it was wonderful! ^.^
Welcome to the Eagle Vision Show!

I HAVE MORE TORCHWOOD!!! *HEARTMARKS VIOLENTLY AT THE WORLD*

Episodes 6-9. Came in post. ^^ Also there were chocolates and pajamas and a packet of smash. SO, instead of going and doing shopping to have actual food for tea, I'm going to curl up with an ENTIRE SAUCEPAN of Smash, and watch Torchwood all night. ^^

ALSO THERE WAS A PACKET OF JELLY BABIES

...

I LOVE MY MOTHER. <3 XDDDDD

Jelly babies being one of the things that the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker of the Long Scarf, always has. ^^ As well as yum.

AHA!
DOCTOR WHO WILL RETURN ON 31st MARCH!
Hurrah!
Alas, I will be on holiday, but should still be able to watch it.
So yes, finding out about that made my day.

and I found out that Torchwood would return in 2008 :/ Which is not quite as good.
Should have wished for unicorns.

Bad side:
I missed the my class that had an exam today, due to being an idiot.  It is a dreadfully long story.  I emailed my prof. begging for smoe sort of extra credit to give me some grade even if it is not close to half credit.

Good side:
Okay so actually this was last night, but it was still amusing me this morning. This comment train on LJ YouTube is so my friend since BBC-A decided to not run it for a bit.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

...BUT I'M NOT BACK IN ENGLAND UNTIL MID AUGUST!!!

NOOOOOOOOO!!!

*FLAILS*

Torchwood in 2008 ... ... ... they'd better not be planning what that means they MIGHT be planning... ... ...

I guess they might be doing a wait and see?

I miss old Who when people stayed in it for years and years. T_T (or it felt like they did, anyway. Mind you, as I wasn't alive for most of it, I suppose I really can't tell...)

*calms down*

Eek, hope things work out, Mils.

In other news entirly, a family friend had surgery for breast cancer earlier this week, and is now, from what people have told me, at home and doing fine. Which is a relief. And J-chan sent me home made mini egg cookies in the post, which survived suprisingly well. So I'm having a good day.

Youtube is your friend... But think of it this way.  The US is a over a year behind. They have only shown the first seven episodes on BBC-America, as far as I can tell from the website. And of course after they lure me in with the damned marathon--which I only caught the last two and a half episodes of--they take it off air for who knows how long.

She is letting me come into her office tomorrow morning and take the exam.   I am so happy.   I hope I can get most if it done in the little bit of time I will have to do so.   I shall be cutting out on a class I have never missed to do this.  But I am so happy!!!  *squee!!*  I shall beable to keep a high mark after all!!!

I...I know, it's just... ;_;

There aren't many british tv shows I watch? Actually, there aren't many tv shows I watch at all, and most of them are japanese. (for which we in europe have to wait for usually two or three times as long as those in the usa. If it ever gets here at all. But as soon as it's licenced in the usa, most of the fansubs stop. As far as I know, we still can't get MKR, except on the 'multi-region' versions which a lot of region two players don't like as well, and the quality isn't as good. Though I'll admit it's been a while since I looked...)

...And I've been watching this show my entire life. XD

so I'm kinda disappointed that I can't see it as it comes out. T_T Hell, I'd even get a tv license just so I could watch it! (In the UK, if you have a tv, you have to have a tv licence. They cost a couple of hundred pounds. (roughly 400 US dollars? A year?)  This is why I don't watch that much tv - at university, I don't have a tv, because I don't want to pay that much money for the licence. All that money goes to fund the beeb, I think.)

(Dr Who and other bbc things don't tend to appear on youtube. At least not quickly.)

Glad your lecturer (? Professer? Teacher? XD;;;) is being so nice!!

Today I havn't been able to move my left arm very much because of Massive Pain. This kinda sucks. And it's making me grumpy. ^^; But at least I go to Tokyo on Saturday!

A tv License just for owning a tv? You have to pay for something you've paid for to watch stuff that your paying for? >.> Talk about taxation. I think the US would break apart if people started making us pay about 400 usd a year for just having the tv alone. -_- I know I wouldnt be able to aford it.  Im sorry down.

----

In other news I have one project almost complete! That means only two more to go and two weeks to do it in! If I have one project a week that should be great! yayness!

Welcome to the Eagle Vision Show!

We only pay a licence because the BBC don't have adverts in between programs, whereas the other mainstream channels do.

What made my day:
I got my AS resits and General Studies results today.
I got a B in General Studies.
My redo of my pyschology went from a D... to a D :/
My biology resit went from E to a D
And my RS resit went from a D to a B! Hurrah!
Should have wished for unicorns.

Hurrah for improvements!
__

Thanks Revolutionaire! That makes more sense to me now. Not having adverts would be a large bonus, and I'd probably would pay for that.  Who said I didnt learn something new every day?

___

I've been published! Now you may be thinking poetry, fiction or so but actually its a little more mundane than that. Being Published as a ceramicist means that I have my work printed out in a catalogue of invited ceramic artists. Though it happens to be old work of a female nude torso. >.> The stuff Im doing right now happens to be... flowers, organic life, and jelly fish. But hey Im published!!!!! It adds another notch in my resume! yayness.
Welcome to the Eagle Vision Show!

Well done on the AS resits, Revolutionnaire!!! Especially the RS  ^^ Good luck for the A2s!

And that is COOL on the being published, Ragyn! (And just being a ceramicist. that... sounds awesome, really. XD Especially with starfish...)

I get pissed with the tv licence largely because it only funds the beeb - the bbc have, what, 15 channels at most out of several hundred channels avaliable on sky/cable/whatever? And are 2 out of 5 avaliable on terrestial-only sets. But you HAVE to pay, even if you never watch the bbc.

All the other channels have ads four times in an hour. the Beeb only has five minutes advertising its own shows between shows, doesn't break for them... but it's not that much better, really - or I don't find it to be - and if you never watch any of their channels, you get no benifit beside NO MONEY. >.< If you don't have one, you get fined large amounts - they send people round to check, they have signal-detecting-vans (or they did.) and at university, in halls? They send someone around every six months or so who checks your room for a tv. I've had them look in my wardrobe, my cupboards, beind my door to see if I'd shoved it out of sight, and inspect my laptop for a tv adapter.

...

.../rant. Sorry. ^^;;; My great Uncle used to drive a detector van about, so the family used to argue randomly abut it (in a friendly manner) quite a lot, but I've really never forgiven them since their inspecter managed to smash my favourite mug inspecting my uni room. >.>   I loved that mug! T_T

made my day today: GOING TO TOKYO TOMORROW! YAAAAAAY!
