Okay, I really don't remember how Clef got out of stone or if it was covered (and Im rewatching right now sooo Im keeping an eye out for it) so how did he? I know the simple answer is "He has a very strong will, and though it took so long he eventually broke the spell." Now Im also more towards the inclination that due to the breakdown in Cephiro certain events set into motion the breakdown of the spell in which Clef was incase as well as the aid of his own will.  >.> but if it is covered then just tell me and ignore the question.

(Its suprizing really how much you you dont remember untill you watch things.)

I don't think he was freed until Zagato died.   I think it has to do with your life force as to how long your spells last.  If you are dead, there is nothing for the spell to be controled.

What if someone died and the spell went out of control?

Interesting, if when you died the spell you cast with your will was as equally strong as your will or perhaps the last ounce of your will was able to manifest into the spell physically, well... that would lead to certain problems. Perhaps because of such monsters manifested? I always took the monsters as dark manisfestations of will (plays a big part in Love Story, though we havent seen much of it... ahem), but if likewise they were spell related? Humm...

I may be imagining this, but I'm quite sure when Clef was turned to Stone, he fell a great distance.
Surely, a stone statue would break into many pieces, yet Clef did not.

I know it's small and meaningless, but it's just something that has been bothering me since I first saw MKR1.
Should have wished for unicorns.

That bugs me, too. ^^;;; The best theory I can think of is that Zagato still wasn't mad enough was still fond of Clef as his teacher, enough so the stone-spell stopped him interfering, but protected him from the rest of what was going on?

...one more reason I like the manga best. XD more sense!

you know that bothered me terribly as well. Perhaps, since Clef has enough power to contact the Knights through Mokona he had enough power to soften his fall? >.> Like a stone clef on pillows or something.... >..> meh.

He didn't break because he fell in a bottomless plothole.

LoL, I wonder how Clamp reacted to that? (Clef falling into a bottomless plothole?)
