Pairing names

Lately I have been wondering this,

if Clef and Umi is "Clemi", and Ascot and Umi is "Asmi", then...

a. Would Fuu and Ferio be "Furio"?

b. Would Lantis and Hikaru be "Lantaru"?

c. Would Eagle and Hikaru be "Eaglaru"?

d. What about Caldina and Lafarga... "Caldarga"? "Lafardina"? (I love this one, haha!)

hmmm... what do you guys think? any more pairings and names in mind?
Bleach+Naruto+Rayearth = Love

lol in theory yes. They weren't doing the Clemi/Asmi names when I first started writing fanfics. I dont know when that happened really. So around 1998-2001 no names. It was just the old ClefxUmi.

And what happens if it was a love triangle like I always think of eaglexhikaruxlantis? lol.

Eaglantaru? Its mind boggling.

Thanks, Ragyn, now I have a rather dirty mental image of that triangle in my head and it's really hard to get out!... just kidding! but really, triangle names sound even more fun than pairing names. hmmmm... clasmi? I don't know if that would work out :p

...XD I like Zascot/Ascuzu (Zazu/Ascot, crack pairing yay!)

heh, that's intresting, actually... Clemi is actually CuleUmi in japanese, too. I wonder if they have other pairing names...? huh...

(...geaglantaru? XD)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! My brain hurts! >.> Imma gonna go and poke my eyes out now. (not really but its a funny thought)

Well, aside from knowing that in Japanese Umi/Clef is KureUmi  (no dropping the 'U' people!!) I suppose it is more or less the same. So I suppose Ascot/Umi would be AsuUmi?  I think it looks so cute in Japanse.

But personally I hate most pairing names.  I seem to deal with "sparrabeth" but that is as far as I am willing to go with my fandoms, because it is easier than typing Jack/Elizabeth.  But only just and then I write Jack/Lizzy, but that just confuses people and now I am completely off topic.  no tea at night anymore

But I HATE 'Clemi' as a name.  It annoys me so much. Umi/Clef ClefxUmi.  That is what I am used to, that is what I know.  Why do the little 'gigglies' have to go and change the names fo thing.  It is annoying.  like the people who like to use the pairing name 'Drose'.  I'm sorry, but smoe names are just beyond stupid, and should not be touched with a barge pole.

I have to agree with you on the Clemi subject Mils, it reminds me too much of Clemie from Reno 911 (and a crossover of rayearth and comedy central might not be the most suitable thing to do). I respect your opinion, maybe the name merging annoy you as much as trucks with horns that play the dukes of hazzard theme annoy me, but hey! I think they can be amusing sometimes, it doesn't mean you gotta use them, I just like to think "Caldarga/Lafardina" (I still haven't decided which one I like better) and laugh in my head. Ha!

P.S.: "Sparrabeth" is now perpetually stuck in my head... oh, by the way, Johnny Depp is my boyfriend's cousin (5th or 6th cousin though)

*snickers* I LIKE Clemi. I just... I can't help it. It's one of those words I saw and thought 'heh, that looks cool!' (I do this a lot. >.> weylewey, silva, flumina, doom... some words make me grin for no reason. ^^;;;) and name-squish names are slightly more decipherable than just initials. (I bounce through too many fandoms - I have a bad memory for names - mix the two, and FF as a tag will usually confuse me horribly the first few times I see it. Though I know I use them myself at times. >.>;)

plus, I'm too lazy to write out Clef/ or xUmi on things. And it takes up letters in summaries! (*hates on ffn*, I ALWAYS hit the character limit halfway through...) Also, I always read it as showing the power dynamics/whatever in a pairing. ^^; (I was on the outskirts of Gundam Wing fandom - the arguments about tags have left a permanent mark. ^^;) Pairing names seem more balanced to me, somehow?

...it is highly likely I have a VERY ODD BRAIN about things like this, though. *laughs*

Also. Um ...my family knows the meaning of / or x, but Clemi would probably go over my parents heads, at least? ^^; (the downside of rambling at them about slash in my baby-teen years. XDD heh.)

It's generally hard to really annoy me in the summary of a fic, though. XD

I don't hate them as much as some people do, but I only use them playing around.  There are too many ways to do it with some pairings and the fandom hasn't settled on just one.  I always use a / or x or just smash the names together: Fuu/Ferio, FuuxFerio, FuuFerio, depending on my mood. :P

But "Fuurio" just makes me laugh, so I sometimes use it in jest.
