Nanowrimo 2008-2017

Is anyone else doing Nanowrimo (national novel writing month - going nuts and challenging yourself to write 50,000 words in a month)  or am I the only mad one on the board? XD

I'm procrastinating on getting the last 400 words I promised myself I'd get done today, so thought I'd ask. ^^ Protecting You was hashed out largely as a nano project, so it has SOME connection to rayearth, at least. XDD;;;

Ahahahahaha, not this year.  There's no way.  I actually have a goal to get something fanfiction-wise posted once every 2-4 weeks, but that's as much energy I can spend to writing as possible.  D:  Maybe next year?  ... in which my NaNoWriMo project might very well be my senior design project.  WOE IS MY LIFE.

I thought about it.  I had planned to have all my Doctor Who crack angst fics finished by now, and I didn't factor in how busy I would be.  So... It obviously that isn't going to happen, as you all have seen that I haven't even kept up with the rewatch.

Who's doing it? This will be my third year. I've won every year with 50k (last year I had 60k) but I've never finished a project despite working on it off and on for a few months after November. I always get them almost done. :\

If anyone else is doing it, maybe we can commiserate here during November?

I'm in! Again. XD I think this is my fifth year, not counting times I had to stop in the first week - I'm an inveterate Rebel, because I find middles and endings muuuuuuch harder than getting the first 50,000 down - this year I think I'm going to be working on the first sequel to Protecting You - I have 60k already, which was my nano last year, but I'm certain there's more than 50k left. >.<

Might switch and do something original, though - I have a couple of half-researched things waiting to be worked on - as I've been talked into going to a writer's group at my workplace and while I'm open about the fanfic with my normal nano group, not sure I want to spend my time explaining it to colleagues? Especially when they might track me down online! NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET. *horror*

(I'll probably work on it and just not tell them it's fic, of course. XD)

I'm still debating on it.  I have my old Umi/Clef fic turned mostly original story that I want to work on.  I have a few pages done so far, and loads of notes.  We'll see what happens.

Yep yep!  I'll add you back!  I usually only add people as official buddies if I know them outside of the NaNo site and if they're actually participating.  So yay!

Pretty much all my buddies are the people in my region who turn up to the write-ins. I started actually going to them a couple of years back, worked out everyone there was insane, and promptly felt very at home. XD

I seem to have signed up for too many things... School News Broadcasting, National Junior Honor Society, an extra algebra II class to get ahead, spanish, and most recently Drama Club.

My own november's looking fairly insane, and given I now type 7 and a half hours three days a week for work (...I don't type constantly, but it's fairly solidly computer work?) my wrist may decide to cut me off - and as I have to have wrist for WORK I'll have to heed it if that happens. But I'm going to try!

I'm in! I've been participating in NaNo since 2003, but I've only won three times (2003, 2004, and 2011), and of those three, only actually finished the story during November in 2003, haha. The years in between ranged from getting about halfway there to writing one chapter and then piddling out, but after last year's comeback (and no longer having college schedules eating me alive), I'm feeling much better about it and am excited for this year.

Here is my profile on the website, and my writing tumblr is here. I'm pretty excited because I'm actually completely rewriting the story I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2003, and I think it's going to be much, much better. Whee!

Though I suspect I'm going to miss my goal of finishing the first draft of PY before november. ^^; (if I seem incapable of SHUTTING UP about this DAMN FIC at the moment this would be why. My attention is split PY/work/music theory. NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR ALL THREE D:)
