Umi at Clef's house fic

So, I keep thinking about this fic and I sort of want Clef to take her with him to a party/ball/thing he's forgotten he needs to attend for some reason or another, but I am not sure if it shoudl just be thrust upon her as an "Oh yeah, BTW, you need to be dressed up 'cos we're going out."  or if it was discussed when they made the plans in the first place.

Do you want her to have something to wear (which Clef may have never seen~) or to have to demand he provide appropriate clothing? XD

(BALLS ARE THE BEST whut noooooooo I have never written two gratuitous Balls into any fic NOPE well I am disguising this one a little better but XD)

I would be so tempted to go the route where he forgot it, and then she can yell at him for doing so, heh.

Hm.....  Need activities for after the ball.  I have a week to fill unless I should have them have to cut their holiday short because Clef needs to get back to the castle library fro research or something.

Thoughts?


Preferably activities that DON'T end up with them in a bed, on furniture, or anything else along those things

More like Clef teaching her card games, or finding a baby griffin, or things like that.

(I suppose there is always Clef shutting himself up in his study because he's now afraid to be alone with Umi?)

UH yes being more serious - arguing and Umi stomping off to go explore the area ABOUT the house and nearly killing a monster which is in fact the friend of the girl who works at Clef's place (who runs in and stops Umi hurting it) and then they spend the afternoon climbing trees or something like that with the help of their friend and Clef comes out to find them when Umi is late for tea and no one can find the girl because he's fairly certain Umi will be behind the absence (and he might be slightly worried but he's not going to admit that nooooooooo) and then Umi tries to talk him into climbing the tree with them while the girl is trying to get DOWN the tree and Clef is struggling not to laugh!

OR SOMETHING (why do I have a plotbunny for your fic, heh.)

oooooooooooooorrr Umi finds music books and she can't read the lyrics but she can aaaaaaaalmost work out the tunes and, idk, the housekeeper ends up teaching her them all because she finds her sat hissing at the book and knows them - and then Umi can find out about the song Clef was humming unless you have plans for that? - and

uh

'Umi gets to know the people who essentially live with Clef' seems to be the theme here, heh.

(Embarrassing stories are good too?)

I think those activities are a given.  So I was wanting other things because they need to take a break at some point.


Climbing trees sounds like a good one.  Might think on that one.  I'm sure there will be some arguing in this fic because, well.... emotions get a bit high at one point.

Probably a few hundred words or so from finishing this next chapter, then I will work on Chapter 4 in earnest.  It seems I might play with the idea of Umi getting to know the staff better since Clef decided to be a prat and lock himself in his study rather than TALKING ABOUT THINGS.

I've given up trying to outline this little thing. It doesn't want to follow my original plan at all.

Any of the staff you want to get to know better?
