So, I think I finally got this fic to settle down and flow properly.  I've posted the prologue.  I hope you're happy, DOWN, since this is all your fault.

Meh..... I am really annoyed with Umi and Clef now.  This fic is trying to turn into something it shouldn't because they are taking things a little too fast, once they get down to it.  *headdesk*  I have a sERIOUS problem.  Sirusly.

So, should Clef teach Umi the steps of a few dances before the ball, or just hope that he can lead her through them when they get there?  Or would it have even occurred to him at all, and it's Umi who requests he teach her a few dances if he's going to take her to a ball?

This was exactly what I needed after the DAY WHICH WOULD NOT END at work! I am now curled up happily thinking HEE and not much else. :D (apart from CLEF HAS HELLHOUNDS because too much Robin McKinley's blog. XD)

Well I still owe you "A baby dragon follows Umi home and this is somehow Clef's problem"  If you've forgotten.

Though it might not happen in THIS fic....  Perhaps the sequel that is already bugging me...

I could make it a baby griffin, just for you.  But how big would a wild baby griffin be?  Puppy sized? Bigger?

I would think they would be puppy sized for like 2 weeks and then shoot up to more of an adult Great Dane size rapidly... Or a St. Bernard. Something like that.

I'm not sure if I can manage to keep Clef in check until he's allowed to give in. Umi's not helping any.  I swear she's doing all of this on purpose to make writing difficult.  Though, it looks like I might get this chapter out this week?  Just need to close a few gaps and then edit the thing.   *sigh*
