Friend-Ships

I'm not going to do a poll, because I know I'd miss about half the friendships people will post, but seriously, whose friendships do you love most?  Why?  Did they get enough love in the series? 

The friendships that I Ship:

Umi/Fuu, Umi/Ferio, Clef/Ferio

Umi/Fuu: We get a hint of the bond these two have in the manga, when they grip hands and swear to do all they can for Cephiro and their own hearts. I wish there was more in the anime.  I think they would have become very close friends.

Umi/Ferio: I would love to see these two spend some time together talking/complaining about their significant others. I see Ferio trying to be the wise older brother type, but failing miserably when Umi refuses to take any advise from him and/or just argues with him.

Clef/Ferio: I can't think of this one without thinking of DOWN's comment about that crack fic of hers that never was.  Aside from that.  I think these two are bound to have become quite close during the rebuilding of Cephiro. Both are trying to pull a country together that is nothing it once was with it's main source of stability long gone.

Yes yes yes all of these.  I call them bro-ships.

Fuu/Umi is probably my favorite in this series.  I hate how it was lost in the anime because I loved the focus of individual relationships between the knights.  Umi and Fuu's entire friendship does not revolve around Hikaru.  Imagine that.

Ferio/Clef I've always loved, too.  Ferio seems to respect Clef and I don't think it's just due to his status.  I feel like he appreciates everything Clef tried to, wanted to do for Emeraude.  What you said about them becoming close while trying to preserve Cephiro really rings true.

Umi/Ferio my god I've always loved their friendship.  They have so many similarities.  I like to think there's a bit of tension, every once in a while when there's been too much wine, just under the surface.  Of course I took this to a ridiculous degree in that never-to-be-finished fic a few years ago, but it's spun off their friendship.  I had meant for that fic to explore that friendship but of course never properly got around to it.

The whole Autozam crew. Eagle/Geo/Zazu.  They are precious adorable babies and I want them to all live happily ever after.

Umi/Caldina.  I see Caldina as a "cool big sis", especially to Umi.  They're both vain spitfires with big hearts.  Caldina loves the knights so much, but I think she'd be closest to Umi in the long run.

Ferio/Emeraude. The feelings that these two give me.  Unghh.  Especially in the manga.  Owww my heart it's okay I didn't need that.

I - uh. I AM GOING TO COME BACK WHEN MORE COHERENT. Though my thoughts on Umi-and-Ferio and Ferio-and-Clef (...whether or not it remains within the bounds of friendship XD)(Possibly because Ferio and Umi are similar in so many ways, I think that Ferio might balance him too? Unless it's the OVA. In which they go back to REPOPULATE CEPHIRO. *will never stop giggling at that*) are probably now detailed thoroughly enough in the pairings thread (ahaha, sorry, hijacked it. I fail at linear-progression and sticking to topic?)

But GEO, argh, Geo, Geo and Lantis and Eagle and Zazu, he kind of breaks my heart and gives me warm fuzzy feelings all at once - because he's trying SO HARD to look after Eagle, to support him, after losing Lantis, but Eagle's too stubborn and determined and too /Eagle/ for him to manage, at least on his own!

I was bad enough about Geo anyway, and then he turned up in Tsubasa with Eagle and Lantis, still playing the WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE TALKING SENSE AND NO ONE HERE IS LISTENING TO ME ARGHHHHH role, and I melted hard. Poor, poor guy. No one will ever be able to keep Eagle out of trouble - I seriously doubt even Hikaru would manage it entirely, because Eagle is nothing if not determined to do things HIS way, and that's one reason I think Hikaru and Geo should team up to keep Lantis and Eagle out of trouble :DD I like the idea that Geo starts off at the end of canon (MANGA CANON for REASONS T_T EAGLEEEEEEEEE) being somewhat surprised that both Eagle and Lantis seem to be so strongly inclined towards this kid - I mean, he knows she's nice and obviously strong and rather adorable, but they're both /silly/ over her, what gives? And then one day she turns up and says seriously to him 'Eagle's about to do something he shouldn't, isn't he' when Eagle's trying to, IDK, push his recovery. 'How do you think we should change his mind?'

and he begins to get it. XD

And then they form a team of awesome the likes of which have never been seen before, and Zazu wanders about in shock saying things like 'I just saw Eagle, and he was actually USING HIS CRUTCHES! THAT NEVER HAPPENS!'.

Tarta and Tatra and Umi I love too. I adore Tatra's kind, gentle, completely-made-of-steel character, and I love the caring older sibling role anyway - the fierceness she betrays when she needs to, for Tarta's sake. Her amusement at Tarta and Umi (FAR too alike XD) is far too close to what I feel watching the episodes. <3

Clef and any one of his former students gives me terrifying amounts of feeling - I was about to say 'especially ~~~' but started typing out ALL OF THEM. Zagato and Emeraude and Alcione and Lantis - just, ugh. FEELS. The way that the only way he could NOT betray them was to do his (sworn) duty, which meant betraying them, at least emotionally - failing them - and I am stopping here before Clef Feels destroy this whole post, because I know myself. XDD

Then! There's the knights themselves! Who are just AWESOME and so supportive and accepting even though they're so very different people - and admittedly they WOULD cling to each other at first, because when you're tossed into a world which makes NO SENSE and you can't believe it's REAL, surely you'll become attached to the only other two people who make sense? But it's more than that, there's such affection there, and I love it!

It IS a lovely Place.  It was good that I was talked into making it all those years ago.  We've had some great times.  We should have plenty more.

I don't think it is safe for many of us to be Rayearth-ing anytime of the day, but then again, that's how you get amazing things.... and crack. always the crack.

I have, in fact, been completely loopy maaaaaaaaany times in my life (flat diet coke, a frequent transgressor - codine a fortunately rare other ^^;; (when I start asking detailed questions about the etymology of mangle-wurzels that even I and the other half of my brain cannot decipher (we are somewhat terrifying for having full conversations in about three words) then it's very very clear I'm... mentally compromised. XD THOUGH cannot take painkillers or caffinated drinks anymore. ...this is probably a good thing in the long run.............)

I don't go loopy on lack of sleep, though? I get tunnel-vision-ish and able to concentrate on only one thing, but I'm still generally processing? (This proved useful at University...)

(I would have been a moody and probably spiteful drunk. There is no need for anyone to ever experience that. ^^;)

Uuuugh, THIS SO HARD. Geo would be such a good reference for Hikaru, and with her stuborness and ways of convincing anyone of doind whatever she wants, they'd be an unstoppable force! The sense of reason and the strenght to convince people of it! They should have big adventures, I tell you.

Then! There's the knights themselves! Yes, they're so great together! I love the bond they created and how they grew so much with eachother. They all ofer some sort of balance to one another that is just so great. I also feel that they're very comfortable with each other and their friendship can accomplish so much more and they'll grow into such beautiful ladies that'll stun everyone in their path and uuuuurrrhh. ♥ ♥

I also think Ferio and Hikaru would be great buddies, I don't really have more explanation except I just FEEL it in my heart. They can tease each other all the time and point shit and laugh at each other and have some great adventures.

Presea and Caldina would also be so great together. They'd be the crazy big-sisters figures to the knights and they're definitely drinking buddies.

I also think Lantis and Zagato, besides being brothers, were really great friends and Lantis not only lost a brother but his best friend.

Askot would also be really great with the knights, I can easily see him being comfortable with Hikaru and Fuu, and dorky as always with Umi.

Hikaru would also be great friends with Zazu, but I can't decide if she can or can't hold her liquor. Either way, she'd be the resident teddy bear to Lantis' drunk hug monster when she hangs out with the Autozam crew. And of course EAT ALL THE SWEETS with Eagle and Eagle would convince her to convince Geo that his cakes and puddings were quinteessencial to Eagle's recovery and her own sanity of mind or something.

Aaah, I'll stop here, cause yeah, rayearth-ing between classes makes me lose all my lunch time!
