Oh my gosh, now I'm picturing Lantis facing off against the three brothers Shidou for the first time and he's like "why am I all nervous and sweaty they're just a few spindly dudes" but the twins are giving him the squinty-eye and Satoru is just total pokerface and Lantis is just like "Hikaru Hikaru HIKARU PLEASE SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT ME IMMEDIATELY"

! ! ! ! !  so it's kind of an unofficial MKR fandom tradition to ship Kuu with Geo but I was skimming the beginning of the MKR2 anime today and I realized she'd get along really well with Kakeru and Satoru!  not necessarily to ship them or anything, just declare themselves the big siblings for all the Knights (since Umi is an only child)

I think she'd get along with Masaru too, the eldest?  did I mess up Masaru vs Satoru, I forget, and am too lazy to spend very long googling it, why is it hard to find a birth order???  because Kuu can be plenty mature/serious but also has a goofy side.  I think she'd be able to get along well with all the Shidou kids. <33

Satoru is definitely the oldest. I don't think there's ever been any official statement about Maseru and Kakeru's ages, but based on the clothing each is wearing at the beginning of MKR2, as well as general appearance and height, I'd say that Maseru is the middle brother and Kakeru is the youngest brother. (At the beginning of MKR2, Maseru is wearing casual clothes and Kakeru is wearing what is very clearly a school uniform; Kakeru's face has a youthfulness shared by Kamui from X, while Masaru's face looks rather like it is transitioning from looking like Kakeru's to looking like Satoru's; at the end of MKR2, Maseru is shown to be about half a head taller than Kakeru.)

Also, within the last year or so, I've come to realize that I actually do ship Satoru and Kuu with each other.

I've apparently lately taken to thinking about Umi and Clef as friends. I think it is because I still have the edges of this silly Umi/Tarta idea stuck in my head, but I keep thinking about them being the same sort of bickering and snarking friends as I imagine them in a relationship. Just without the make-outs.   

I should really try to write some little one-shots to get back in the game.

HE IS SUCH A NERD tho I tend to think Satoru would invite him for tea and that would sort of be the end of it? Hikaru would tell Satoru how Lantis actually backpacked around a galaxy and that would definitely spark some curiosity o something.

I'm picturing them just flailing at him and he doesn't get a hair out of place fending them off.  a bit silly (one of those 'everyone is a chibi' side stories sort of scenario) but I chortled to myself all the same.

I actually adopted this idea from someone else, but I headcanon that Hikaru's brother's have always said that anyone who wants date/marry her has to defeat them in combat. Then, when they finally meet Lantis and Eagle, they change the ultimatum to defeating Hikaru in combat, because they can at least be sure Lantis and Eagle won't kill her.

I do think this one's on the manga! At least in my version, they do say they have to be defeated first.
