#MKR Shipping Week Challenge 2014 ♡

Remember when we did the shipping weeks over on Tumblr like a year and a half ago?  Sure you do!  It was moderately successful though it died out towards the end... 

I'm planning another one!  It'll be either August or September.  I'm currently trying to see if one month is better for most people than another.

Gonna do the same pairings in the same weekly order, though I'm gonna be thinking up new prompts since the ones last year proved rough.  If you have prompt ideas, throw them at me! 

Week 1: Hikaru/Lantis
Week 2: Umi/Clef
Week 3: Fuu/Ferio
Week 4: More Palatable Option (Umi/Ascot and Hikaru/Lantis/Eagle)
Week 5: Everyone Else

Admittedly we'll be all visa-ing in august maybe but

I mean, not that I am suggesting I am one of the more likely people to write/art/something for 'any other pairing goes' but. WELL.

I was wondering if maybe making the weeks different themes and having all pairings okay at all times might sustain interest through the month? (This sounds ALMOST LIKE A REASONABLE THOUGHT ahahahahah no mostly it's me wanting to be able to write all the crack all the weeks um) (WHAT Mils isn't on the same continent to throw things at me yet I can make all kinds of suggestions without her being about to stop me. >DDDDDDDD) (not that she's good at stopping me, mostly she enables the crackishness. Hee.) So - doing the weeks as 'au', 'fluff', 'h/c', 'tragedy', 'SOMETHING ELSE OR SOMETHING' then having themes in the genres???

I don't know. SOMETHING. STUFF. YAY RAYEARTH!!!!!!! I'm in whatever. XDD

Yeah.....  Um..... we do tend to get ... um.... distracted when we're together.  But I could try to write or draw some stuff BEFORE then, to have ready to post on time!!  It's a PLAN!

Admittedly we'll be all visa-ing in august maybe but

EEP!!!   (though, really, I don't think you have that much to do on your end once you get the paperwork to me in August.  Just some things to do beforehand?  Like house inspections? Ick...  I need to go fuss with passport photos tonight....)

I'm totally in!  I think I vote September too, but it might be more timed posts and less interaction, though, Down and I could host a chat or two during that month? (Technically, we could try for a meet-up too if anyone's feeling insane and wants to come to OK, but.....  I lack guest beds now...)

OOOH good point re: meet-up! ANYONE WANT TO MEET US BEFORE I TRY TO STEAL MILS TO THE UK? BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE A GOOD TIME MAYBE?

(I do not vote one way or the other, I think. Mils, love, you may have to poke me into writing whichever month it is. XD THOUGH if I could get the ever-expanding Zazu/Ascot with the diamonds and the hats written in time, I would completely post that in the ALL THE THINGS week )

I like to run the weeks Mon-Sun, and Sept 1st is a Monday, so that would work very nicely.  it'll also give everyone a month and a half to get their projects done (I'm gonna do a Hall Of Fame for people who finish weeks)

Mils and Down, it's totally cool if you just queue up your tumblrs or whatever to post your pre-prepared stuff.  and I hope we can do a chat every Sunday.  'course if you can't host it for -reasons- I can probably do it most Sundays.

so yeah, September sounds good!

aaaannnd it's going to be a LONG MONTH.  last year I did Umi/Ascot and Hikaru/Lantis/Eagle together in one week, but since Umi/Ascot has been really popular lately, I'm giving it its own proper week, and gonna try and see if H/L/E can hold up its own week.  I think.  maybe.  probably??  maybe it'll be just one day of the Everyone Else Week?

tentative schedule is:

week 1: Hikaru/Lantis
week 2: Umi/Ascot
week 3: Fuu/Ferio
week 4: Umi/Clef
week 5: Hikaru/Lantis/Eagle
week 6: Everyone Else and Crack!ships

unless I decide to just give H/L/E one day instead of a week.  hmm, I already made them a graphic, but I think there's not enough people who prefer the three over H/L enough to make it a week.  that'd also keep this from being a super long event.

THOUGHTS?????


(can't commit to meetups yet, life is still settling, but I'll pop in the Meetup thread!)


ETA: I meant U/A to be earlier in the month since it's currently more popular, but if you guys think having U/C Week before your get-together is a better idea, I can switch them!

Suzanami, maybe you could have the first week be Hikaru/Lantis(/Eagle) - give people the option to include Eagle in that week if they prefer the threesome over the pairing (like I do), so H/L/E still gets a week without having an entire week to itself?

I'll probably end up doing that anyway, no matter what the official thing for that week is.

I'm going to assume you mean that you don't want it on the 4th week because it is a FOUR and you're superstitious about the number, not that you don't want it the fourth week because we will be not being paying the internet much attention because of reasons....  (that and we might be alone in a little cabin by the lake for part of that week with no internet)

BECAUSE IT'S A FOUR YES. Also because when together we tend to sit and giggle at fic ideas instead of actually WRITING them. XP

I'm debating on it, because that's not a bad idea at all!  the only reason I hesitate at all is because probably the biggest H/L fan on Tumblr, her notp is H/L/E.  and I don't want to ruin her week, because she really loved H/L week last year and participated every day.  I know she should be able to blacklist the tags for H/L/E, though.  so I might just make a note urging those doing H/L/E for Week 1 to tag so she can block it.

Because I fail at filtering out anything Rayearth, I just pull faces at stuff not to my taste, so I might try to flood my dash with U/C. .............Which might be rather unfair on the U/A people. The U/C/A (I need to stop writing it that way, I'm confusing myself. XDD UCA is the short for the political alliance that Cephiro's a part of in Protecting You. Like I said, I'd probably end up doing it as H/L/E week anyway, simply because I am not able to separate the three of them as a 'ship (except for Lantis/Eagle, since my headcanon says they were lovers while Lantis was in Autozam).
