10th Anniversary Meet-Up (2016)

It was brought up on the chat that we should have a meet-up for the 10th anniversary of the forum, which is mid-march.

We're thinking in the UK.  There less drama if international people want to fly in to Norwich (airport code NWI).  You'll come through Schiphol in Amsterdam, which is big and a little confusing, but we can give you more info before you get here.

need to get a new passport as mine is long expired, but I can't think of a reason why I won't be able to make it! <3  my husband Chris also wants to come along, just to visit England, and there's a good chance he'll be doing his own thing much of the time.

I would love too do that, I've never been abroad. But sadly I have a severe lack of funds to be doing anything really. But hey who knows March is still a ways off.

Woah! This sounds like such a good time, I'd love to try and coordinate, but as of yet I have no idea what school for me will be like next year. I will still keep this trip in mind though, because meeting you all has been something I've always wanted to try~

The anniversary of the forum is the 14th?  But we don't have to do the meetup over that date, so we could very well try to accomodate what schedules we could.  I have no idea what my year will look like, either.  Who knows....

We've got a few ideas of what we might do one day, involving an outing out to the coast near here.  Depending upon the schedule, it could involve a ride on a steam train.

I was thinking that I wouldn't be able to do this, but I was discussing it with my mom yesterday and she said that she could potentially see turning it into a thing for my entire family. Like, she and my dad would do their own thing during the meetup and then we'd take some time as a family to just do touristy stuff for a few days. I'd definitely need more information before we could make any definite decisions, though.

Also, just as a reminder, I am physically disabled and must use either a wheelchair or a mobility scooter outside the house.

So long as we have set dates far enough in advance to get decent flights, I don't have a date preference. Also, as somebody whose main issues do not usually impair my mobility or ability to do manual labor, I am perfectly okay with accommodating/helping out anybody with issues that do.

My own issues are mostly social. Got Aspergers, AD/HD, and Anxiety, but so long as I'm on my meds, it shouldn't be a big deal. I do stim by pacing A LOT (doing it right now, in fact), and if you want me to stop, you'll probably have to give me something to do (brush a kitty, start a card game, direct me to some chore, etc.). Also, if I say or do something upsetting, please call me out on it! Chances are that what I actually meant didn't come out right and I'll be glad for the opportunity to correct. And, of course, I will need some time to myself, because even dealing with awesome people can be exhausting, and the more overwhelmed I get, the more likely it is I'll say something I'll regret, and that outcome is no fun for anyone.

Otherwise, I should be good.

Awesome.   I'll work out when I can take time off in March, and we'll go from there.

I have the week off 14-18 March, which leaves us 12-20 March to find time for a meet up, if that works for everyone.  I'm sorry, I work for a school, so time off is tricky.  (and our first anniversary is the 3rd, so will be doing out own holiday that weekend......   

I'm not sure what anyone might want to do.  We should probably have a chat once we have more definite attendees.

I can definitely do any of those dates, our schedules are flexible!  just need to decide soonish since we wanted to buy tickets by Christmastime or so!  Chris' bday is the 22nd so that would be a nice time to do something special like visit England :>
