I think we need some crack/non-canon ship threads on here..... Though, I think this being an OT3 isn't as non-canon as some ships that might appear on the forum tonight....

When I play with Ascot/Umi/Clef, I like to somehow incorporate the two canon manga moments in which all three of them are somehow involved.


First, we got this scene when they're heading away from Selece's Shrine. Umi's feeling really bad about Ascot's whole situation/leaving him behind in the Shrine, but then she gets the brilliant idea to enlist Clef's help. Which, had everything actually turned out well in the first season, it would've been hilarious to see her persistently demanding that Clef help Ascot.


And then there's this scene, where Ascot mentions to Umi that he's been learning other kinds of magic from Clef. It's a good bit for Ascot's character, showing how he's consciously avoiding risking his friends' lives now. It's good for Clef, too, showing how he will make time for a pupil even in the middle of an apocalyptic crisis. Also, considering Zagato, Emeraude, and Alcyone are dead, and Lantis is doing his own thing, there's a fair possibility that Ascot's the only one Clef's been instructing during the season gap.

In other thoughts, the threesome partially works for me because even when there's deliberation between Umi/Ascot and Umi/Clef, I don't see Ascot and Clef really being rivals over it. In fact, the outcome with the most resentment between the two would probably be if Umi liked just Clef, but it was unrequited. Then I could see Ascot getting offended on her behalf ("What, she isn't good enough for you?").

It's also fun to imagine Umi low-key shipping the two of them.

this ship honestly will have me waving flags once there is content for it heh.  like one of those ships where I don't contribute much but very happily consume the stuff that everyone else offers

oh wait, I have this.  it's very sketchy and borderline PG13...  but I doodled this out like two years ago!  it's Ascot/Umi/Clef making out. I meant for them to be gettin' it on but since it's just a loose sketch, we can pretend I just didn't clothe them yet.  and they're just kissing and stuff so I don't think it's necessarily NSFW ;p

I feel like cackling and saying MY WORK IS DONE but other people being interested is totally not my fault so XDD

At SOME POINT I shall actually FINISH Trigonometry which is the semi-pretty-serious take on this (also lots of smut apparently) (this is why it is taking an AGE) (also Clef and Umi keep trying to rage at people who were mean to Ascot in his childhood and that takes a while...) (Caldina is absolutely going to kill Clef at some point...)

Oh my goodness... I really am not into Ascot/Umi. quite uncomfortable with it but uhmm fine, I'll be just okay with it then..

Of course, my own contribution to this pairing is Freakiest of Fridays, a ridiculous triple body-swap fic which will get only more ridiculous and more shippy as it goes on. And yet, with any luck, it shall remain plausible.
