clef. i used to be fond of him (cause he's cute and all), but i find he now does almost nothing for me as a character. which is too bad, cause he's cool. D:

Actually....Fuu.  Nerds rule!

Clef.  I really don't like him very much in his anime incarnations...his OVA form is pretty, but too angsty for my tastes and the coloring for his anime series adaptation is too bright and pastel and he's a little bit too one dimensional...but then I discovered manga!Clef and it was all over.

Hikaru in general.  She's a glorified Mary Sue...and she's cute, but I love complex characters.

I don't love her, but I think Alcyone gets a raw deal.  Zagato is an ass.  (Too much feminist literature for Sci today...)

Fuu...initally she was so awesome and now, even though we are very alike, Umi has taken her place as my favorite.  Blame fanfiction, really.

I find them all amusing, some perhaps good for conversation, but I don't have the overwhelming desire to throw any of them to the floor and have my way with them.

I love Clef and Fuu's intellect with a slight dash of mischief and Umi's spastic nature.  I would be a combination of those three.

Hikaru and Primera.  One is such a flat stock character to me and one is just fricking annoying.  I mean, you're three inches tall, get over it.

Umi/Clef...but only very well done Umi and Clef.  Most people botch this beyond recognition.  I also am (although I don't really write it)  partial to Fuu/Ferio because the Prince goes for the nerd.  Again, yeah nerds!

It's a tie between Hikaru/Lantis...Mary Sue meets the Wallpaper....or Hikaru/Eagle...Mary Sue meets a cool character that needs better.

1. The first character I first fell in love with To tell the truth, it was Hikaru, and it still is to this day. The love just grew 'is all.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now Fuu. Since I watched the anime first, I thought she was a weird nerd that totally did not fit in the story and had a weird hairdo to boot. I was also annoyed how she kept referring to Hikaru and Umi with "-san". But after reading the manga she's gone a bit higher up my list, and I don't mind her as much.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't Fuu again. I like her now, but I still think she's a bit out of place in this entire thing... I'm kind of having an inner debate on what I like about her or not...

4. The character I love that everyone else hates Well, in this forum, it'd be Hikaru.  ^^(it's all good) But generally this MKR fandom is very open and there's not a lot of hate for characters. As far as I know anyway...

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer Eagle Vision. I actually don't like him at all. There's something about him that irritates me.

6. The character I would shag anytime Geo. He's so smexy with his strong jaw line. *shot* Hmm, Lantis seems cool too... *shot again* Gah, who keeps shooting me?! X_x;;;

9. A pairing that I love Hikaru/Lantis, they're personalities are actually pretty similar in some areas. It goes with the saying "Similars Attract". What? Yeah I know it's "Opposites Attract", but I once read an article that said that saying was false; people are attracted to people with similar personalities, apparently.

10. A pairing that I despise  Caldina/Lafarga... it was kind of like, "Holy where'd that come from?!!! It kind of popped out of nowhere; I wish it could've been explained better.

Been a while since this was updated, but I'm new and hey, it looks fun!

1. The first character I fell in love with Ascot! To be honest, I think it was Mona Marshall's voice that did it, shallow as that sounds (I saw the dub first.) She did the character very well.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now Umi. I found her annoying when first I read Rayearth, and now coming back to it I'm realizing how much more realistic her reactions can be, even when exaggerated, than the others'. She's also an interesting bundle of paradoxes, and I like characters like that.

3. The character everyone loves that I don't Clef, unfortunately. Though the way they handled him in the second season of the anime probably contributes to that ("he's too overpowered! Let's have him always get exhausted so he can't do too much!") so I'm being unfair to him as a character.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates Nova! A million times Nova. I don't actually know if people hate her or not, but I don't see her being discussed much anywhere. I'm not necessarily a fan of the decision to have An Evil for the girls to face in a show that's about moral ambiguity, but Nova as a character appeals to me very much. I'm a sucker for the playful, childish psycho-type, and also for characters with interestedly twisted worldviews.

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer Fuu. It's not that I don't love her anymore--I do--but she used to be my favorite Magic Knight but, coming back, I like Umi and Hikaru more, in that order.

6. The character I would shag anytime ....None, actually.

7. The character I'd want to be like Again, I don't really have one. I see admirable traits in all of them, the girls especially, but also enough failings to make me from saying I want to be like them.

8. The character I'd slap Emeraude and Zagato. Let's think about our problem instead of resorting to the way things have always been done, shall we? ^_^; I guess it's part and parcel of the flawed nature of the Pillar System that they don't even seem to wonder if there were alternate courses of action. I can't think of any myself, but...still...

9. A pairing that I love It's not a romantic pairing, I don't really support any of those for this fandom, but Caldina and Ascot's friendship/pseudofamily dynamic in season 1 of the anime. It added a lot to their characters, in my opinion, to actually see them doing normal things like owning a house instead of just standing ominously behind that curtain of water all the time. Framing them like that got them to show off more aspects of their personalities and also humanized them beyond The Next Big Threat, while also making the fact that these characters you'd started to identify with were now attacking the Magic Knights an even more jarring moral dilemma. Sympathy for the villains has been done before in more complex ways, but for the target audience of this show I'd say this relationship was handled quite well.

10. A pairing that I despise I am going to be tossed out of here on my behind, but I think that both Hikaru's feelings for Lantis and any feelings Umi may or may not have had for Clef were born a good deal from guilt. I also don't think their personalities are compatible in the long run--once Hikaru is back to her more energetic self she'll want someone who's more willing to go out and do things with her and who's there for her beyond just when she's in trouble, and Umi needs someone who's going to call her bluffs, yes, but not get irritated by them the way I think Clef would after a while with his low tolerance for shenanigans. Basically, they both need people who are going to be able to laugh with them and do more normal things with them beyond their save-the-world mode, and I don't think Lantis and Clef can provide that, among other reasons, but this paragraph is long enough as it is. ^_^

I love Nova too! She's one of the funnest evil characters ever! There's just something about her that gets me energized, or makes me start laughing maniacly. Like Hikaru, Nova's contagious. lol. I just get a big grin on my face whenever I see her.

As for what you said about the Hikaru/Lantis pairing, this is what I think of it. Those two are actually similar, I believe. Rather than being the "brooding bishounen", I think that Lantis is actually a really kind person, though it's hard to see at first thanks to his seemingly cold exterior and deep voice. I think Hikaru was able to see this kind soul from the beginning. And Lantis, to me at least, seems to be the type who can read people fairly well; with hardly much of a meeting he was able to acknowledge her extremely strong heart and spirit. I don't know, but I think Lantis became attracted to her because of this strong heart and spirit; it's like his "type" or something(Eagle anyone?). And so, thanks to both of those elements, their hearts became connected.

The future for the two? Well, in the end, if they were to get married and start a life together, I imagine the two to have a kind of calm, serene environment in their home; I can see the two hardly having any arguments because of the fact that they understand each other very well. There wouldn't be a lot of talking between the two, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be a cold relationship; more like the frequent exchanges of smiles and hugs would be enough for them.(I could elaborate some more on what their future life would be, but that would mean I'd have to write it in story format, hmm...maybe I should do that...) Now, that may seem rather unrealistic, but considering their personalities, it seems very possible to me. Hikaru's hardly the type to have fights anyhow. The bottom line is that I approve of this pairing. ♥ ...I want to draw some fanart for the two's future now, I totally got the image in my head. ♥

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now? ?Caldina. I used to be annoyed by her when I first watched the series as a kid but when I watched them again as an adult I realized she was actually one of the funniest people they had in there. Her obsession with money just cracks me up.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't ? ? Clef. I don't hate him or anything, but I just don't have any strong feelings for him.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates ? ? Hikaru. Everybody says she's whiny and one-dimensional, but I think all knights have their flaws. I mean, Fuu's deductive powers are actually quite predictable and not that impressive (she's still soo cute!), and Umi is too irritable and bossy for my taste. And when the three of them are in a big pickle it's usually Hikaru who decides to woman up to flavor and take control of the situation. So yeah, kudos to hikaru for taking the first step and trying to keep everybody motivated.

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer? ? Umi. I still like her and I think she is the prettiest one of the three, but I'm more into Hikaru and Fuu now, when before Umi would've been my no. 1 knight.

7. The character I'd want to be like? ? Presea, except for the whole "dying at a young age" part (I think she is the prettiest female character in the show!)

9. A pairing that I love? ? ?Fuu/Ferio is definitely my favorite. I also like Lafarga/Caldina a whole lot! and I think Emeraude/Zagato will take a very respectable 3rd place on my list.
