Title: The Ughh Thread (or: ''I just want to complain for a sec don't mind me'')
Post by: suzanami on February 09, 2015, 07:38:44 PM
I keep thinking it would be nice to have one of these.  I love the What made your day today? thread but sometimes I just want to shout into the internet for a second to whine, but don't wanna make a whole new thread about it.  so just feel free to vent now and then (briefly! if you want to make a long rant, use your blog)

- vents can be as petty as breaking a nail or as serious as losing a loved one.  consider this the other side to the WMYDT? thread.
- swearing is okay due to the nature of this thread but don't post just a string of obscenities.
- also please be considerate of delicate issues, whether you're posting them or replying to them.
- we'll add specific rules to this post if it seems necessary in the future, but our members are all very well-behaved so I'm not too worried.

I'll start.  because I just wanted to complain that we have a leaky pipe under the sink again.  the garbage disposal/pipe leaked really badly when we first moved in, so the landlord had a whole new disposal put in.  like the whole cabinet under the sink was full of mildew and sludge, it was terrible.  that was in July/August.  I'm procrastinating calling because we JUST called the landlord about another thing not a week ago, so I just put a bucket there again and being conscious about how much water I run, til I get around to calling.

You know what's gross? Hair in drains. You know what has a lot of it? School locker rooms.

You know who had to clean it out today?  :-\

I keep candles in the bathroom, two glass holders on the window sill that I put votives in.  they've been there for months.  yesterday and today, right as I was about to get into my bath, I knocked one off and it shattered on the floor.  one yesterday, one today.
they were two of my favorites, really simple but kind of hard to find -- and I got them both from tiny shops in my old city in Ohio.  I'm irrationally upset about it, doubled because stupid me made the same freak mistake twice two days in a row (THEY'VE BEEN FINE FOR MONTHS)

Recovering from surgery SUCKS!

I've been through medical hell since January 22. It started with the flu, which landed me in the hospital for three days before I could go home. Then, before I had even recovered from that enough to resume all of my normal weekly activities, on February 23, I ended up in the hospital again because of a pneumothorax (air in the chest cavity that is not in the lung and therefore causes the lung to collapse because of the external pressure) and had to stay for a full week to let it drain. Then exactly a month after I was admitted to the hospital for the pneumothorax (again, before I had recovered enough to resume all of my normal weekly activities), I ended up in the hospital because of a second pneumothorax and, because of the pneumothorax reoccurring, the doctors ended up doing an operation to effectively remove the space between the lung and the chest wall.

I hate that.  And the display one is never in your size, either!   I did get an awesome waistcoat once that was the one on display.  Still have it.

this is somewhat relevant to this thread!  there's an app called Vent that is just what it says.  you make an account, select which mood you're feeling, and vent it!  sometimes people reading the "recent" vents will respond in support!  I'm on there but I'm telling no one my username so I can truly vent freely :p  but I wanted to mention it here in case anyone else ever wants to vent anonymously to the void.

that said, I drank too much lemon water today and now my throat is a bit raw :(  but I love lemon water...

My supervisor tried to lecture me about something I hadn't done earlier today when I was already annoyed about other things, and I could feel my asshole side emerging. I tried to tell him to just leave me alone so I could just get the stuff done and calm myself down, but then he got all "Don't get annoyed at me! I'm your supervisor and it's my job to point these things out!" and still wouldn't go away.

Fun fact: If I ever tell you to just leave me alone or to drop the subject or something along those lines, it's most likely because I'm about to say either something I'm gonna regret, or something you're gonna regret. In this case, it was more of the latter.

It's still pissing me off, though. Like, I was already annoyed, and him making such a big deal out of it just meant this was bugging me all day rather than the half hour or so I might've needed to get over it initially. Seriously, dude, you're not paying me enough to be sparkling rainbow sunshine when I'm not feeling it!

Supervisor is just getting on all my nerves this week. *takes deep breath*

<afternoon inner dialogue reenactment>
You want me to clean out the freezer tomorrow morning? Sure, no problem. Wait, no, you don't have to explain how to hose something down, I get that! Everybody gets that! No, just tell me what kind of soap you want me to use. Okay, Hespastat, got it, sure I'll use a clean toilet brush on it like you suggest, too- OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME HOW THAT WORKS EITHER! Oh, now you're explaining the hose again, and demonstrating what you want me to do on another freezer. I get it already. Stop insulting my intelligence.

There's a plug in the back to drain the water? Good to know! So, basically, you want me to 1) take the freezer outside and hose it down, 2) clean it with Hepastat and a clean toilet brush, and 3) drain it via the plug in the back (and presumably hose it down again afterwards). Yeah, really, I got it. WHY IS THIS CONVERSATION STILL GOING ON? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WON'T SHUT UP! I'M SAYING THAT I UNDERSTAND AND I'LL GET IT DONE TOMORROW MORNING, IN WHAT LANGUAGE DOES THAT MEAN "CONTINUE TO EXPLAIN THESE SIMPLE METHODS TO ME AS PATRONIZINGLY AS POSSIBLE"? TOO BAD WE'RE NOT BY THE PARTICULAR FREEZER YOU WANT ME TO CLEAN, CAUSE IF WE WERE, IT COULD PROBABLY FIGURE OUT HOW TO CLEAN ITSELF BY NOW AND SAVE ME THE TROUBLE!

You're just lucky I was trying really hard not to be an asshole since I played that card yesterday. Don't push your luck tomorrow.

Time for a nitpick issue!

Okay, whoever's leaving new rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms on top of the holders, I know you mean well. Even if the rolls weren't empty yet and I would've gotten to them soon enough, I understand not wanting to risk anyone else going without. The problem is, due to poor planning/incomplete transitions, we have three different kinds of small toilet paper rolls in this building, and each kind only fits on specific holders. You would know this if you were one of the custodial staff, but I know you're not, because you're leaving the wrong kind of rolls.

Frankly, I don't even understand where you're getting that variety, because half the time, I can't find that kind when I need it. In fact, I pretty much operate on the assumption that it's not in stock. There is, however, plenty of the right kind on the shelf just inside the girl's locker room, as well as a cabinet I keep a few of those rolls in up front. And, for the most part, I keep track of the rolls myself and have a good idea of when it's necessary to change them. So really, just leave well enough alone.

I only got less than an hour of yardwork done because it's hot as hell and sunny, plus the weed whacker vibrating in my hands shook them up and I still have a weak bird-like grasp almost an hour after I stopped using it.  and I wilt in the heat it's not even funny.  it's only 80?F (36?C) but the sun is unrelenting and I am a delicate flower.  gonna have to go out by like 9am tomorrow T____T

Seriously, Supervisor, if Coworker didn't understand what you meant by "Slow down!" (which is entirely possible as English is still pretty new to her) you know what won't help? Repeating it a hundred times when I'm pretty sure she heard you the first time. Sheesh, she was just mopping behind me and she wasn't even getting ahead, it's not like she was about to run into you with a go-cart. Chill. And if you honestly thought she didn't understand the actual words you were using, you could always try, I don't know, rephrasing it? "Not so fast there" or "Hold on a minute" perhaps?

If he ever does that to any of us again, I'm just gonna start yelling "JUMP UP ON THE HYDRA'S BACK!" Not that anybody will get it, but hey, it'll make me feel better.

I really hope I'm wrong about this.

I really hope that medication bottle is just really well hidden, despite the fact that I've checked that part my car several times already. I really hope that people who I decided to help out yesterday because, hey, I've been in the situation of desperately needing a ride and having to rely on the kindness of others to get places and local public transportation sucks so much and it was no skin off my back, DIDN'T STEAL MY FUCKING VYVANSE.

Because that would be such an incredible dick move. And I'll have to take off work Monday to go to the doctors for a new prescription, because I have lost jobs before cause of incidents that happened while off my meds, and that doctor isn't open on the weekends.

Well, I hope it was worth it. I hope whatever your situation was, it was worth the theft of drugs I need to function at least passably well in my everyday life. But I'm not sure it was. Because if you guys did take them, well, you took the Vyvanse but left the generics alone, even though I kept them all in the same place. As if you knew for a fact those pills were worth more. And you'd be absolutely right, because Vyvanse hasn't been on the market long enough to have a generic form, and without insurance, it would cost me hundreds of dollars just for a month's supply. So you had some idea what you were doing, didn't you?

So in that case, I'll just say, fuck you, and go on with my life as if you'd never entered it, even for a moment. You don't deserve any more consideration than that.

I feel like beating my head against a wall until I black out at this point. Currently in my life my main goal is to make enough money to move out of my parents house and live on my own, and I just can't ever seem to make it. Makes me wanna scream. Everytime I think I'll almost have enough to do it, nope, sorry, you have other things to pay for. Enjoy living with your mom and dad another year or two. Because you know, who doesn't want to live with their parents until they're 30? Guys totally dig that. I'd have done better with my life if I'd started working right out of high school and just worked my way up, I'd be making more than I am right now, with my freaking useless degree.

What I'm going to say now might sound obvious and worthless (and maybe stupid), but I know what you mean. I'm almost 25 and I still live with my mother. I don't have a job and my degree is absolutely useless. I feel like I don't have any talents at all.
I feel so lost and confused. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life...
I hope this new year will bring us happiness and motivation. :)

So, lost my job recently. They said it was budget issues. I'll buy it, since in my experience, both the head of facilities and the supervisor really suck at budgeting, and beating myself up over what I could've done better has never really helped me in the past.

The worst part is this means applications, aka #1 Anxiety Trigger. And job interviews, which us autistic people tend to do poorly. In addition, I have awesomely green hair now, which, while it is completely awesome and I have no desire whatsoever to go back to brunette, I am entirely aware it will limit possible job prospects. Then again, any place that can't accept me with awesomely green hair is probably too closed-minded a working environment, anyway. I mean, if they really want all their employees constantly pretending to be bland kiss-asses to keep a steady paycheck, I'm fine letting those employers run themselves into the ground from lack of innovation and too many yes-men. Just a shame so many of the consequences fall on the employees. (/tangent)

Anyway, that shit's happening. It sucks. Bleah.

Ugh, I feel like I might be coming down with something, which really sucks. I felt fine this morning, but by lunch time I had a itchy, scratchy throat that wouldn't go away no matter what I drank. I still have it, even after taking some cough syrup, bleick, that stuff is awful.  And my sinus are draining, which is making things even worse, I hope I don't wake up in the morning with an even worse sore throat, but I get the feeling that I might.
