I've always wondered if I have missed something with Clef. Why does he keep his form instead of , like Ascot, grow? Princess Eme only grew after the death of Zagato but I believe it was in direct correlation with the fact that she could no longer pretend her love for him was not there.

(wooo. I think I have a story Idea. )

Do you think that Clef would grow if his realization came to fruition that he did in deed love Umi? or what?
Welcome to the Eagle Vision Show!

Well...my interpretation of that is that it is necessary to assume that form for the two top stations in Cephiro...i.e. Master Mage and Pillar...as those two have the most contact.

Also, there is a certain degree of inaccessability to that form.  Emeraude only grows up when she totally loses it...she loves him before, quite definitely, I'd say, so that's not it.

However, when she totally gives up caring about Cephiro and what happens to it, then she changes form...I don't necessarily attach it to a love thing.

In fact, I'm weird and think its a cool extra barrier Clef-centric love stories have to leap over.  But you know I'm weird anyways.
"We know what we are, but know not what we may be" ~ Hamlet -  Scene 4, Act 5

I dunno about Clef...  Ascot changed his appearance so that Umi wouldn't think of him as much of a child and possibly become interested in him. :\

Emeraude changed her appearance unintentionally when she snapped after they killed Zagato.  I think the change was more due to her loss of innocence to madness or some such thing.  ^.^
