Fanfiction theme songs

Whether you read or write it, there are certain songs you associate with different fanfiction, some are more obvious than others.

My most recent fics are obviously titled by songs that inspired.

"Wish I had an Angel" by Nightwish

"Try to Wish" from the Ah! My Goddess Movie soundtrack

At the moment I cannot think of any other for any fanfic in particular. Maybe "I Look After You" by the Fray for DOWN's Protecting You.  *laughs*

Uh, "2000 Years" is based around the song of the same title by Billy Joel and each individual chapter has its own theme song or poem attached to it (everything from Shakespeare to Stroke 9's "Little Black Backpack.")

Suz's "You Can't Take It Back" sometimes has funny associations with Brad Paisley's "Alcohol" in my head...

"Angel's Punishment" is so "Somebody for Someone" by the Corrs.

And, of course, my general MKR theme song is "Belief" by Gavin DeGraw.  Look at the lyrics.  It's true.

"We know what we are, but know not what we may be" ~ Hamlet -  Scene 4, Act 5

Hee - I don't think I've heard that song. *makes plans to find it* XD

Hmm. For other people's writing... well, anything by Tori Amos reminds me of UmiChan3's fic? Especially of her 'rubies and gold'. I'd never heard any Tori before, and it made me curious enough to go out and find some when she mentioned it so much. XD

As for mine... *kangaete iru*

"A few moments" was written entirely to Queen's 'who wants to live forever', and it always reminds me of that. ^^ Anything by Nightwish or Within Temptation makes me think of Protecting you, as the first month I was writing it they were practically all I listened to. And then Fleetwood Mac's 'World Turning' is for Clef's attitude at previous conferences. XD Mind you, it's also one of my general Clef songs, so. ^^;

For a while I would constantly play Labyrinth music when I was writing Clemi so it was natural that I eventually wrote a crossover of sorts.
Eyes on me, is another one. Generally anything that strikes my fancy.
Welcome to the Eagle Vision Show!

I finally (after - god - FIVE YEARS of wondering) have a copy of 'Cool on your island' by Tori Amos to listen to. XD So I had to run back and reread the song-fic UmiChan3 did for it, the place I first heard about it. XD Now I'm feeling very nostalgic. ^^;;;

(...has it REALLY been that long since 2002? O_O Where is time disappearing to!?)

Ooh, may I also mention some of the songs I listened to when writing my own fic?

"Written in the stars" , one of the song by Elton John in the musical Aida, it surely portrays the predicament the star crosses lovers was in.

The opening of Mozart's requiem.

I dreamed a dream and On my own in Les Miserables.

Of course, the respective theme music of Zagato, Emeraude and Lantis in the original sound track. The season one op and ed.

Maboroshi no ginzuizhou and Hoshitachi mamemorete in the Sailormoon sound track.

To love another person is to see the face of God.

Greater love got no man than he, who lay down his life for his friends.

Wow! Almost everything I write is song related... But almost all of them are based in songs in my native tonge...

The newest one is a song by a Spanish band named la oreja de vangogh, it's name is jueves...
Und wenn die Schatten Fallen Zwischen Deine Lippen ich den letzten Kuss ganz tief versenke...

The noir!prohibition!au has declared itself a name (winterunderground) (this is SUBJECT TO CHANGE) and vaguely attached itself to a few of the songs off AFI's decemberunderground album - but when I'm writing it or thinking about it, it wants folk-ish lyricless things like Harvest Storm by Altan, or See Spot Run by Fiddlesticks?

..........There will be jazz eventually. But I don't know what yet...
