This song reminds me of....

Alright, maybe I really have Rayearth on the brain today, [I only spent two and ahlf hours hunting down the OVA] but I was listening to my music collctions today and a few songs stuck out to me.  The following songs make me think of the rayearth characters.


Avril Lavigne--"Things I'll Never Say":  This song makes me think of Ascot and his cute little crush on Umi.

Avril Lavigne--"I'm With You": This song makes me think of the Rayearth OVA.  I think I might make an AMV of it at some point, if I ever get around to doing some video captures.  It would focus on all three girls, not just Umi/Clef.  I can see it in my head.

Nightwish--"Wish I Had an Angel": This song was the inspiration for my infamous fic by the same name. When I listen to it, I cannot help but think of Ascot.  I have no clue why.

Joss Stone--"You Had Me": For some reason this song makes me think of Alcyone, I wish she could have gotten over her obsession with Zagato and led a peaceful life, And the bastard shouldn't have used her so badly.

Cheetah Girls--"I Won't Say (I'm in Love) {From Hercules}": This song reminds me of Presea/Sierra and that stupid add in bit of their love for Clef.  I'm sorry, but that was just stupid.


Any songs that make you think of Rayearth?

Ohyeah, I'm With You always makes me think of the OVA in general, too. *3*; The shot that always comes to mind is in the second ep where Fuu is about to recieve her ovum and she's on the balcony (?) looking over Tokyo. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/windam/cap021.jpg)

Let me see what I can remember...

I have no clue why, but Dixie Chicks' Cowboy, Take Me Away always makes me think of Fuu in the OVA, too. o_O;
I always thought BSB's (shut up, I like their ballads XD) Shape of My Heart reminded me of Ferio in the first season.
Walk this World by Heather Nova. It makes me think of Eagle. Man, I love that song.
She'll Leave You With a Smile by George Strait. The description reminds me so much of Caldina. <3
The One by Gary Allen really sums up Fuu and Ferio's relationship to me. Like, a lot.

Aaand there's others. But that's all I can come up with at the moment. D:

Evanescence--"Solitude": This song makes me think of Alcyone again and her unrequited love of Zagato.

Bet you lot can't figure out what the main artists I have been listening to recently.    I need to change my playlist around....  But that might not help much given tha tI just burned a CD of all of the song I mentioned, pluss more, for my car.

I listen to what I am sent by friends, so I will take that suggestion and look for it.  Unless you have something you want to send me.  ^.~   I was introduced to Nightwish through an AMV.  "Gundam 8th MS Team" done to "10th Man Down". I loved the song and my boyfriend of the time remembered that and finally found the song for me nearly a year later, as I didn't know what song it was, just that I loved it. 



But today I was listening to my new Killers CD yesterday, and even though I have heard this song a million and one times... I just got this random connection

"Mr Brightside" -- the Killers --  Ascot.   (would make a nice one-shot title)

it's only three days after I'm not meant to post here, but my connection's been down? >.<


I have a huge Clemi playlist on my pc, most of which is only vaguely relevant to them... but I find a very large amount of Fleetwood Mac stuff (especially later songs) remind me of Umi, Clef, or both - 'I'm so afraid' has been my Clef image song since I first read the manga -

I've been alone/ all the years/ so many ways/ to count the tears

I never change/ I never will/ I'm so afraid/ the way I feel

It just reminds me of him in Rayearth 2 and beyond. ^^;;; (I was a lot younger when it got stuck)

Then there's 'Crystal', for the Clemi relationship - I started about 15 times to songfic this one, and neve got it right. ^^;; The imagery is all about water, and makes me think of not only Umi, but the water dungeon Emeraude-hime is in, and then there's the line: And I have changed, oh - but you, you remain ageless which just seems apt. XD

Then for the unrequited, messed up Asmi there's always 'blue letter' - on the road to paradise/ I wanna lover who don't get old which cracks me up as a line. XD

Then 'rhiannon' and 'songbird' both remind me of Fuu...

I think you can tell what I was listening to a lot when I first read Rayearth. ^^

Damn, I currently have the problem that anything I listen to by Snow Patrol reminds me of rayearth in someway or another, mostly Umi/Clef, but others as well.  And believe it or not, it was my obsession with the Jack/Elizabeth pairing for Pirates of the Caribbean that got me onto them.

Listening to the album gave me the motivation to go on and begin the revamp for Definitely Not Tokyo and Is also a help and making me want to finish that increadibly time consuming project.

One or two lines of Snow Patrol's "Make this go On Forever" has been teasing me into a possible one-shot or short fic about the beginning relationship of my version of Umi and Clef. ^.^

Would you believe, years from when I posted about rayearth, I would be back into the fandom yet again, and writing new fic, just from listing to too much Snow Patrol, among other things.

I still stick to "Make this Go on Forever" - Snow Patrol and a true Umi/Clef song (though I am writing a novel based off it too)

I also seem to make the same connotation with a number of Evanescence songs, too.
